I'm 6' 3'' 300lbs and in my mid 40's. My first experience with the board was at Oahu's Sandy Beach 3-4 foot shore break (6-8 foot faces). Believe it or not my first wave was an "In and out ". That was a good sign. I could not believe the ease of catching the wave followed by the speeds I could achieve. Great "buoyancy" for someone of my "stature". I got to checkout the "Original" Bullyboard that met my size. I felt that the board was just a little wide. When I paddled my arms rubbed the rails. I also felt the board was just a little too thick. My hands could not get a good grip on the rails which meant poor control. The Poi Boy width and thickness was just right. The price was fair. I've priced other "quality" large bodyboards, 44''-45'' in length, here in Hawaii and they were over $200.00. The only complaint I have that the board arrived about 5 days late which made me nervous. I recommend the Poi Boy Bullyboard.
