We are a small business with less than 10 employees. We run two servers; a tower and a 1-u rack mount. This UPS installed easily in our server rack and has enough outlets to accomodate both machines. We did have a power outage and this was able to keep both servers going while we went through our controlled shutdown. It has a serial port in the back and software to automatically shutdown. I am probably going to purchase another one. Recommended!!!!

No One ever thinks they will be struck by Lightning. How to ruin a perfect day.Returning from Europe from 5 months, I mistook which strip to use.Plugged Apple Laptop into wrong strip, bypassed UPS gear by mistake.Lightning hit pole behind house. A $3000 mistake. Power brick, and mother board were fried. The explosion threw flaming parts every where outside in pouring rain. One Mistake was leaving telephone line plugged into back of PC tower. Took out the modem.Cheap surge strips warning. They are only good for one hit. This is a nice unit, it always let out a chirp if surge was noticed - just as lights dimmed in the house. It could keep small lights on during black out for extended time with its dual batteries.UPDATE - Nov 2012 - Almost 6 years later. The alarm came on non stop - requiring new batteries.Installed new batteries - and within a few hours - the alarm comes on again -Check batteries - are just fine - but the unit for some reason has failed.Contacted the company - gave them play by play of alarm - they believe main board went bad. They offered a rebuilt unit for about 1/2 price - not sure what I might do -At least it did a good job over the years.
