This was recommended to me as a high quality inexpensive brush. It seems to be all that and a bag of chips. One of the nice things about this brush is it didn't smell like a wet badger when I first fired it up, which I understand is a common drawback of such brushes. Another cool feature; this brush uses the more coarse hairs from the badger. Many "super premium" badger brushes will try to sell you on the soft fur they use, but IMO, coarser hairs make for a better shave. Everyone should use a shaving brush. Shave cream is a racket. This works so much better, it converted me from the electric razor to the more time tested tools.

I've been using this brush at least once a day for a little more than 5 years now. It's a great brush, well made, soft, and holds a great lather.I think the reason that few people use a brush and shave soap is because there are so many awful shaving brushes on the market. If this brush is used with a good shave soap, you will get better results every time over the very expensive shaving creams in the world. People also tend to think that you have to use a straight razor if you use a brush--silliness!If you weigh the cost of using shaving cream at $5 a can every month, versus a nice quality shave brush (say $50) and some good Colonel Conk soap ($3.50 every two or three months), you are saving half of your money over five years for a far better shave.

Virtually any product related to straight razor shaving seems overpriced. That said, this brush is "worth" the money.
