By C. Swick
I replaced the pickups that I had in my ESP LTD MH-100 with these and the guitar has NEVER sounded better. The set that I bought does not include EMG's newer "Solderless Wiring Kit" so I had a bit of difficulty (seeing as I'm incompetent when it comes to soldering) but my friend came over and helped me out with that. The sound that these pickups put out is nothing short of spectacular. It works for Blues, Jazz, Rock, Metal, really anything you can throw at them they handle with ease. You need 1 9v battery and a little bit of patience because you'll have to remove the old pickups and your strings in order to install these. But it's worth it!One battery can last you over a year if you make sure to unplug the guitar when it's not in use. If you don't unplug the guitar, it's constantly draining and you won't get the maximum life of your battery. Since 9v batteries are rather expensive I suggest making it a habit to unplug it hahaIf you want epic, face melting power and tone, this is the pickup set for you.

By ykza5
Well i got these and installed them on my LTD kh202, to replace the pasive ones, and i have to say it's a huge upgrade.Since they are active pickups they have a pre amp included (battery powered) that makes the sound really powerfull, on clean u get really rich harmonics, really articulates every single note, on distortion they are the best, I think they are made for metal, you can kick in any type of distortion and the will sound awsome, for tapping, legato, and sweep picking they have a very clean articulated sound, they have more sustain than passive pickups, so if you like doing harmonics or playing with the whammy bar (I do) these are perfect for youI might be missing a couple of things since im not a guitar tech, but they are amazing, and really easy to set up if you already have EMGs on your axe.Note: if you are worried about the battery running out fast, don't they last a really long time, I play 2 hours every day and I replace them once a month, twice a month if have a lot of gigs

By Lewis Cass Dalton
These sound amazing! I put them in my guitar myself. I had to buy a 3 way rocker switch because these pickups are not tapped so they don't have a way to wire the 2nd and 4th position on a 5 way rocker. It was very tight fitting the battery into the guitar cavity, but in the end all this was worth it. They have great growl and scream.
