Product Description

Sigma provides the new ultra-wide angle zoom lens from 15mm and this lens is the first of its kind in the world. It can be useful for images of landscapes, large buildings, group photographs or even more. The perspective that changes with the angle-of-view gives picture an extraordinary feeling. Delicate compositions can be adjusted by lens zooming and this is helpful for close-up photography. Provides deep depth of field with its short focal length for amazing photographic expressions. This ultra-wide zoom lens covers a large wide-angle range from 15 mm to 30 mm. With a minimum focusing distance of 30 cm(11.8 inches) throughout the entire zoom range, it is an ideal lens for Digital SLR Cameras. It incorporates hybrid aspherical lens in the front lens group to minimize distortion and astigmatism, and molded glass aspherical lens in the rear lens group to minimize spherical aberration. Minimization of the distortion is a most important issue for zoom lens, but Sigma has succeeded, to provide image quality with minimal distortion by employing aspherical lenses. This lens in corporates an internal focusing system, which eliminates front lens rotation. Since focusing do not change its overall length, this lens is easy to hold and use. Also it is allowing the use of a Petal-type Hood. The lens also incorporates Dual-Focus (DF) mechanism. It is easy to hold the lens, since the focusing ring does not rotate during auto-focus, yet it provides adequate focusing torque of the focusing ring during manual focusing of the lens.

5I didn't plan on buying this lens but I am glad I did
By Craig 1959
I went into a local camera store to look at the Nikon 12-24mm wide angle zoom to eventually augment the Nikon 50mm 1.8 and 18-200mm VR I currently use on my D200. After seeing the Sigma 10-20mm, taking test shots with it and the Nikon, and then printing the shots in the store, I walked out with the Sigma lens.I had planned to buy the 12-24mm Nikon next Spring when my budget would allow the expenditure. I have had success with Nikon optics in the past - starting with my first Nikon FM back in the seventies. The Sigma's good construction, nice finish, smooth+fast+quiet focusing and 10mm focal length convinced me to try my first non-Nikon lens in 30 years. A big factor: The Sigma lens is less than half the price of the Nikon lens here is Canada. It fit my budget, so I took the plunge. The Sigma fits into my "sharp enough" category. In real world shooting, its sharpness is on par with my 18-200mm Nikon. Both lens are less sharp than my $100 50mm 1.8 when "test" images are blown up to 16"x20" size. I never notice any lack of sharpness in "real" pictures. I care more about color saturation, contrast and color balance anyway. In this area, the Sigma does well. Saturation and contrast are equal to both my other Nikon lens - particularly at f8 and smaller aperatures. Wide open, I find some weakening in contrast. The Sigma has a warmer color termperature than my other lens. One click toward blue in Photoshop would fix this minor variance in color. But I use my 10-20mm almost exclusively for landscapes. The warmer color is generally a good thing.I have noticed some vignetting @ 10mm f4. Zooming to 12mm or stopping down to f5.6 elminates any artifacts in pictures I have taken thus far. I have found it's more important to avoid "thick framed" filters - and stacking filters is a no no with this lens. They cause more darkening than a wide open f-stop. BTW: I added a 72 to 77mm step-up ring to my 18-200m VR Nikon to allow me to share filters between my zoom lens.I do miss having a manual/autofocus switch on the Sigma lens. I have accidently nudged the manual focus ring a couple of times. With that said, the incredible depth of field of this lens (or any lens at this focal length) means small focusing errors can be tolerated :) I recommend this lens - even to people like me, who never had a non-nikon lens before.

3Could be 1 Star, Could be 5 Stars! Read More:
By Jim Saueressig
I am rating this lens with only three stars because I am reviewing two lenses. Here is why:When I received my lens I later realized that I did not receive the extended three year warranty card that comes with the USA versions of the lens. Instead of just sending me the extended warranty card Amazon shipped me a whole new lens. Now while I was reading reviews prior to ordering this lens I had seen many reviews where the reviewer either loved this lens or they hated it. After a while I could see why...Some of the lenses that are being shipped are sharp all the way around while some are not sharp at all. Many claimed it was sharper at F:8 than F:4 while others said theirs was never sharp at all. Some complained about distortion and or dull or over saturated colors. I finally found a reviewer who had the opportunity to try 3-4 different lenses. They found that there seemed to be a lack of quality control all around when it came to this specific lens. Having a few days of both lenses I decided to compare them out for myself. I am glad I did.I put my camera in the front yard on a tripod and shot numerous sets of three for each lens at 10mm, 14mm, and 20mm. The results were surprising. The original lens I had been sent first was a clear winner. The trees and anything else around the picture were sharp, The replacement lens was anything but sharp. The colors on lens two were more vibrant than lens one but one can fix that with software where a blurred image is not really fixable.I shot numerous sets with both lenses and a few different F settings and the results remained the same. The replacement lens was the one being returned. Lucky for me the Sigma extended warranty cards have nothing on them, you enter the serial numbers yourself so I kept the card and returned the replacement lens.I have included two photos to the gallery for this lens so you can see what I found. In the end my first lens would have received a 5 star rating because they really are excellent lenses if you can get a good copy. The replacement copy would have received a 1 star rating. Luckily I had the chance to compare the two copies side by side or I may have never known just how bad lens number two really was.If your lens has problems like lens number two you have a poor copy of the lens, return it. Sadly from all of the reviews I have read it seems that maybe 20% of the lenses are not good copies. Many just think poor sharpness is just a general lens limitation when chances are it is just a poor copy they received.Bottom line!1. Get the lens out and shoot some shots, If it is not sharp around the edges return it for another copy.2. If you do not get your extended warranty card you may have gotten a gray market lens. Return it.Upon talking to a Sigma rep I was told they have no way to verify whether the lens is USA or Gray market (international) by the serial number, if you do not have the extended warranty card you will not get the warranty extension so buyer beware. The card is a card stock type black and red folded warranty card that specifically states that it is the extended warranty card. Don't let any dealer tell you that it has the extended warranty without it being in your hands. Sigma currently has no registration on their website. The rep told me to keep the card in a safe place and then in the event that I need service I will send it and a copy of the original sales receipt in with the lens for service. All that being said I can tell you that this is a wonderful lens if you need a super wide angle lens and you get a good copy. They are not the fastest lenses around but for the money you cannot beat it.Take a look at the pictures I included for the lens and hopefully they will help you determine if you were lucky on the Sigma draw and give you an idea of what you need to check for.

5best value wide angle.
By K. Dardashti
there are currently 4 wide angle zoom choices available on the EF-S canon mount (d-rebel/xt/20d) canon 10-22, Sigma 12-24, sigma 10-20, tokina 12-24. Of these, sigma 12-24 is the only one which is usuable on a full frame sensor (canon 1d, 5d, possible future cameras). There is sizable difference in field of view between the 10 mm, and 12 mm. and the tokina is closer to 13 mm on its wide end. The sigma retails for about 2/3 the price of the canon. Optically they are very similar, with the canon having a larger maximum aperature, which is generally not important in a wide angle lens. The built construction is EX, they higher line of sigma, and it excellent. The focus motor is HSM, making it fast, and very accurate. Resolution chart show the sharpness to be very close to that of canon. The color and contrast is excellent, the flare and chromatic abberation genenrally well controlled. A fun lens to use, and excellent value.

Product Description

10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC HSM lens allows enjoyment of super wide-angle photography and it is a very powerful tool for indoor shooting and landscape photography Wide angle of view (102.4° at 10mm and 63.8° at 20mm) offers the photographer greater freedom of expression. These are special DC Series Lenses designed so that the image circle matches the smaller size of the image sensor of most digital SLR cameras. Their specialized design gives these lenses the ideal properties for digital cameras, the compact and lightweight construction is an added bonus! Three SLD glass elements are employed for effective compensation of color aberration, which is a common problem with super-wide angle lenses. One piece of glass mold and two hybrid aspherical lenses, offer excellent correction for distortion, as well as all types of aberration. This lens is equipped with an inner focusing system, and the models which are equipped with HSM system provide quiet, high speed autofocus shooting and also offer full time manual focusing. It has a minimum focusing distance of 24cm (9.4") at all focal lengths. The non-rotating lens barrel perfectly suits the petal shaped lens hood. A circular polarizing filter can also be used conveniently. Please note: Vignetting will occur if the lens is used with digital cameras with image sensors larger than APS-C size or 35mm SLR cameras.

5Great doll!
By A Customer
This is a beautiful doll, with long golden hair and realistic, stylish outfits. (Not like those hideous things Bratz dolls come with!) I love her already. I think the Teen Trend dolls are Mattel's answer to American Girl dolls- they're expensive and have cute little accessories. Although, of course, AG is owned by Mattel, I still think they are trying to sell these dolls as cheaper options. Anyway, cute doll, cute outfit, cute dog.

5Courtney is cool.
By A Customer
I would like to make a few useful comments on this doll. First of all, I would suggest cutting off a few inches of Courtney's strawberry blond hair. The reasons why you would do that are that: A: Courtney's hair is really uneven. B: Courtney's hair is unusualy long. If you cut it to about shoulder length, it looks really cute. Also, Courtney's personalty is sporty and preppy. Gabby's personalty is a pink-freak girly-girl. Deondra's personalty is total glam girl. Kianna's personalty is punk rock.

5A doll sure to please younger and older girls alike!
By A Customer
I love this doll. I like Courtney best because looks and is a lot like me! An upside of this doll is that she is quite flexible.Which is a nice thing. I can get her to do thing like the splits and not have a hassle. The second upside I would like to talk about is this doll is made for younger girls AND pre-teens. Teen Trends doll are toys older girls don't have to be ashamed about liking! Another upside is that she has some cool clothes. Her shirt looks really good with the pants you get. To tell the truth, I have a pair of pant that look a lot alike the ones you get in this set! One more upside is her face is really pretty. But there are some downsides. One downside is that the curlers that this set are hard to work and tangle up Courtney's hair. I tangled my doll's hair up so bad! So unless you want tangles in your doll's hair, don't use the curlers. Another downside is Courtney's knees look really odd. So make sure she is always wearing pants, a long dress, or a long skirt. One other downside is that Courtney is skinny, so she can't fit into a lot of other outfits. I was disapointed about that, since I have a lot of American Girl outfits I thought she would be able to fit into. Another downside is that Teen Trends dolls are a bit pricey. You'll have to save up a lot of money for Courtney! The last downside in my opinion is that the set only comes with one outfit. You have to buy other outfits! Overall, I give this toy five stars, out of the pure fun this toy brings young girls and pre-teens alike.

4Really cute doll, nasty hair.
By S. GILBERT
This doll has really cute clothes and accessories, but the hair is awful! You can't even comb it.Wasn't that supposed to be half of the fun considering they come with all of the hair accessories. Come on, a company like Mattel should be able to do better than that! All said, it is a fun doll with cool clothes.

4Teen Trends: A Good Alternative to Barbie
By Sherry
My daughter chose this doll; I had never heard of the Teen Trends line. I have to say I am very pleased with Mattel for designing a doll that seems to solve some of the objectionable physical characteristics of Barbie and Bratz. Deondra (the Teen Trends doll we bought) is considerably larger than Barbie at 17" tall. Since she is larger than Barbie, she is easier to dress and most of her accessories are too large to suck up into the vacuum cleaner. Her limbs are hinged so that she is very flexible, but the downside of this is that she cannot stand in an upright position without a stand. (I guess I should mention that our stand broke. I called Mattel customer service, and they were unable to replace it, but they sent a $3 voucher for another Mattel product.) Even without the stand, though, Deondra continues to delight my daughter (age 9) and me, her very selective mother. Deondra does not have a disproportionate chest like Barbie; in fact, she has a realistic flat-chestedness that one would expect of a doll that is called a "teen." Her waistline is also in proportion--no waspish figure here. Deondra's feet are flat, not permanently molded into the shape of a high heel. We purchased a clothing accessory pack to accompany the doll. In general, I am satisfied with the outfit, though the pink "night life" top just barely reaches the waistband of the skirt. I am not a fan of the bare midriff look for girls or their dolls, but I have certainly seen worse in the Bratz line, a product that I will not purchase for my child. The night life outfit also comes with a plastic "drink" that looks too much like a cocktail for my approval, but my daughter insists that it could just as well be a lemonade, and I don't have a good argument for that. I have appreciated the box that came with Deondra. It's sturdy serves as a good home for the doll and the accessories that my three year old might try to put in her mouth, were she to find them lying about. Over all, I have been satisfied with this doll and would consider buying another, though I would screen the accessory pack more thoroughly in the future to discard any items that seem to promote an inappropriate image.

5"Impressive... Most Impressive" - Darth Vader, The Empire Strikes Back
By Arun Ballie
This helmet is cast from the original movie molds! Rubies has outdone themselves with this excellent high-quality reproduction of Vader's likenes.Vader's "tusks" and the inner mouth-piece grill are metal. This further enhances the realism of the mask. The inside of the mask is lined with foam and the adjustable straps ensure a very comfortable fit. The mask also mimics the subtle shiny and flat tones of black depicted in the movies. The lens in the mask are tinted like the movie-prop as well. The two pieces of the helmet are secured by velcro. The helmet comes packaged in a colourful collectible display-box. Please look at the pictures I posted for this product. However, remember that Dave Prowse, the actor that played Darth Vader, was 6' 7" and he was a bodybuider. So the helmet is VERY large. Be warned that if you are SHORT or SKINNY you might resemble "Dark Helmet" from the movie "Spaceballs", instead of Darth Vader. Trust me... I know because I'm 5' 8"The helmet is a great collector's item since it is 1:1 scale prop-replica. I will display this with my "Master Replicas - Darth Vader Lightsaber FX" which is also a 1:1 scale replica. You could also wear this with the rest of the costume (availble from Rubies) and attend costume-parties at Halloween. You may also ask your ex-girlfriend to dress-up as the emperor and reinact the scene when Darth Vader throws the emperor off the balcony. Just kidding! The only minor problem I had as that glue that attaches the velcro seems a little weak and started to let go. But who can't apply a glue to velcro? The bottom-line is that it is very sturdy. If you are a Star Wars collector like I am, this is a superb prop-replica and a cool costume piece. It is very well priced on Amazon.com. Check around and see for yourself. Then do yourself a favor and buy it! I hope this review is helpful to you. I was happy to be the 1st to review it and post the pictures to help you. Have a nice day!

4Not bad for what it is
By C. Raaths
This really looks like it was made from one of the old Don Post molds, and more like a Classic Action Helmet. While it's not quite the Classic action helmet on the top of the mask where you attach the dome, the rest looks similar. The old Vader Helmets from Don Post are no longer made and are hard to get and cost $$$.I have a Don Post Fiberglass helmet that was reworked (paint etc) but it's too nice to use for normal parties and events. This is a nice costuming helmet. I will probably have it worked over some too, paint and stuff, but for the $80 I spent, it's a great deal. It is also full size, so it fits and looks proper when one is doing a nice Vader costume. If you want to get something that is symmetrical and ROTS grade, you will need to spend $750-850 on a Master Replicas helmet. And would you really want to wear one that costs that much for regular costuming? Not me.A great starter helmet, and if you got the moxy, get it painted over well, replace the lenses and grills. Search the net for people that do that. It will look very nice. Enjoy!

5Living the dream....
By John A Nauta
I have been a Star Wars fan since I was a child. I have collected the cards and figures but always wondered what it would be like to own one of the props from the movies. Now that I am in my forties I am still a big fan of the saga. And after seeing the tv shows where they auction off movie memorabilia I still wondered what it would like to own one of those movie props. When I saw this on Amazon I thought JACKPOT! Though it is not an actual movie prop, it is made with the same molds as the original in the movie! And better yet, it is at a price that I can afford! I am extremely happy with my purchase and it was shipped right on time. As a previous review stated, some velco did come off but it is easily fixed. On the mask that I received the molding on one side of the neck area is slightly deformed, but not enough raise any kind of fuss over. The only complaint that I do have is that the day I received my mask I looked on Amazon and saw it was being sold for twenty dollars cheaper than what I just paid. DARN MY PSYCHIC ABILITIES!

5Best Deal Ever!!
By DuM4uK
Amazing product! Fairly simple to install, if you are a do it yourself guy or gal, it'll take about 30 min. Has a locking mechanism on top, only accessible with a special Allen wrench provided. When i leave my house I feel safe that my tv will be there when I come back. Tilt work pretty good, just set the position and tighten. All the tools were provided so install was very painless. Only you do need a LEVEL, it is definitely a must, otherwise you might have a TV sitting sideways
