I have a short bed step-side F150 Ford. I learned from the last cover I purchased (a LeBra) that water can seep into areas that the foam does not completely seal on the rail around the bed. I put a bead of clear silicone window caulk around the front and side edges this time and no leakey. The reason no silicone on the tailgate is that there is a hard (but flexible)rubber seal along this edge so that the tailgate can open and close. The other thing is that the rear rail is NOT removable so loading anything over the height of it requires lifting it over-not convenient for moving appliances or large items..other than that it is very well made and fit like a champ.The locking mehcanism is a little cumbersome but heavy duty and the best I have seen for peel and stick kind.I recommend this item for the value.
