5Version to version most consistently best program
By George F. Greene
I've used Filemaker since it's been black and white on a Mac Classic. From version to version it has always upgraded my files and performed flawlessly. At FM 6 I migrated over to Windows and the migration of my relational database was virtually flawless -just a little tweaking of layout and fonts. It has always been very easy to use -I have built entire applications for my personal use and it's always trouble free and fast. It is crazy simple to customize.I stopped at FM 6 for a while because FM 7 switched to a new database model, more in line with other databases like MySQL. Finally this year I switched to FM 10. I did need to redo my databases into tables and used it as an opportunity to clean out the unused stuff I'd added and then stopped using over 15 years -but I was surprised that it was way easier to migrate than I expected.FM10 also has a nifty function where, as I update my FM records locally on my computer, it updates the MySQL database where my website is hosted. I enter new products and my website, running off MySQL and PHP is instantly updated!FM is stable as all get out. My Macs didn't crash but of course my PCs do. When that happens FM will sometimes say it needs to "rebuild the database" -it has NEVER failed to do so. I have never lost data. Also, they don't release until it's right. Windows seems to be in perpetual Beta mode and you get to be the tester but through many upgrades, Filemaker is never half baked -new versions always run well and I'm not on tech support bringing up bugs they didn't catch.Filemaker has a good deal of power for the power user, but FM has also been the database of choice for people who have no database experience. I started as a newbie many many years ago, found it easy to learn (once I understood the idea of a relational database) and I still love it! When a company does a good job of something I think it's very important to say so (cause usually I'm bitchin'.)

5Excellent file manager!
By Manuel De La Garza
I am a dentist, and in dentistry all the computer software are extremely expensive and limited. The Mac File MakerPro 10 has resulted in an excellent option to manage all our patients charts information, as well as our dental dealer's, referall's and almost all the dental office info that we usually keep in our records. It is very easy and friendly to use. I strongly recomend it for either business or home use.

4Switching from AppleWorks
By E.K.
As a home user, I delayed getting FileMaker Pro for Mac for a long time due to the price, continuing to use old AppleWorks databases. I couldn't switch to Bento because it's Leopard only (I need to run it on a Tiger machine as well). Also, if you transfer between computers, I believe you have to export/import Bento files vs simply transfer the file as is the case with FMPro.So with some trepidation, I paid the big bucks (for me) for FileMaker Pro plus the "Missing Manual," and I couldn't be happier. I would've given it 5 stars except for a tiny bug that I found a work around for. For those switching from AppleWorks, don't worry - it's confusing for a week or so and then you'll love it.

5A Quality Product
By Commerce Reader
I was a little leery ordering an area rug online. With color and quality, it's definitely a chance, and not a product you can easily put back in a box and return. I was so pleasantly surprised. The rug was for the family room and needed to have the same colors as a rug we had in our dinette. The colors were true to the picture and the match was perfect. I was also pleased with the quality. The rug came well wrapped and was delivered before the expected date. I would definitely trust this company for other products.

5Perfect!
By mark d. schwab
The rug arrived quickly and in perfect condition and since it came from Amazon and not Home Decorators I saved the shipping cost. The colors were exactly what I thought they were going to be, the size was as stated, the rug is thick and cushiony. I'm really pleased with the whole experience.

4Great product! Almost a home run, but not quite...
By John P. Reed
I have had about a week to use the M5. My first impression is WOW. This IS my first GPS and also my first PDA, so take my review for what it's worth. I would love to give this product 5 stars, but I will get right to the point of why I can't do it.CONS :No 802.11b/g - Not a huge deal if you don't mind plugging a bluetooth USB adapter in your PC, but honestly it is a little annoying that I can't connect right up to my 802.11g network out of the box. There are SD/MMC 802.11b cards available that are a option, but I have not ordered one yet.GPS non-responsive - (see *Edit* at bottom of this review) As one other reviewer also noted, I also had a GPS problem where it acted like it was looking for the satellites, but couldn't see any of them. This was outside, and not indoors. I pushed the reset button, and GPS fired up just fine. As with the other reviewer, I also haven't had this problem reoccur after about a week of using it. The initial problem was about an hour after I took it out of the box. Since then I have used it a good 20+ times without any problems. I will report back if this problem comes back! The leather flip case(?) - It is a little lame, and offers no protection except for maybe screen...and even that's a stretch.PROS -Wow, I opened the box, and it was very complete. A nice windshield suction mount, cig adapter with speaker and the other 'standard' PDA items (cradle, USB cable, travel A/C adapter, etc). It's a nice size, not to bulky. The battery seems to perform as expected. I don't have any exact #'s, but from what I could tell it was at least 4 hours with some GPS usage. One thing I would like to comment on is the 'cost'. A lot of reviews elsewhere talked about how expensive this device is. Yes, it's not cheap, but try buying a comparable PDA and a GPS add-on. You'll be close to, if not higher than what you would pay for this fully integrated PDA/GPS.I have taken one trip (74 miles each way). It did a pretty good job getting me to the destination. I did notice that it was a little slow to recalculate the route if you miss a turn (5-10 seconds on average). Not a huge deal, but could be a problem in inner-city driving. It also did a random "Make U-Turn" in the intersection I was turning at. I believe the intersection came up later than the GPS/mapping software was expecting. The estimated time of arrival is nice, and right on target!GPS performance : The GPS picks up the satellites fine in my car. My house (2 story) it's fine on the second floor, but the first floor it does not pick up the satellites unless I move over to a window.Storage - I don't own a memory card yet, but even with the built-in memory I was able to get most of middle-TN and North Atlanta. I hear a 2GB memory card will hold all of the US, and 1GB will hold over half the US. I would say that is about right. That's about all I can think of at this time. I will report back in a few weeks with an update. At this point I am very pleased.Edit 4/28/05 - I did have one additional lockup of the unit that required a 'reset', so I went to the Garmin website and found out that there was a new firmware revision. I loaded the firmware and so far the unit seems to be performing perfectly. So, for those who are having GPS lockup problems, download the firmware revision. Garmin states that the firmware fixes several lockup issues.

3NEEDS WORK!!!
By Natureshots
Overall, I would give this device a 3.5 stars.Pros1. Display is larger than most handheld GPS, which is nice.2. You can find most of your point of interests, though it does not contain the nursery that I go to often.3. Speaker on included car adapter works well and the voice is clear.4. GPS is one of those useful gadgets, adding PDA makes it even better.5. Good battery life.6. Lots of other goodies like playing mp3 and bluetooth.Cons1. Lost GPS capability once and had to do a reset.2. It gets you there but routing can be way off. With all avoidances unchecked and fastest time chosen, it consistently gave me MUCH longer routes and time. A trip that should only include going on ONE freeway, M5 routes a total of THREE freeways, making a 17 mile trip into 24 miles!3. Device have been inexplicably locked up; unable to use GPS from time to time except for this last time. Device was reset. Received "out of memory" error when tried to open Garmin apps after reset. Downloaded "fix" v2.50; fix app does not run. GPS right now USELESS until Garmin comes up with another "fix".4. Business addresses can be totally incorrect, for example, listings a Church's Fried Chicken and Papa John's pizza were about two miles off and the streets and numbers don't even come close!5. Totally not user friendly.6. Screen can be insensitive, requiring multiple taps.7. Expensive.8. Windshield mount is almost a joke; should have included friction mount instead. Most vehicles have fairly slanted windshields, which would be a hassle mounting the M5 and also would potentially block your view of the road. Besides, it's illegal to mount stuffs on your windshield in CA.9. Acquiring satellites can be slow; you can be a few miles from home before getting a signal.10. Cover flap attachment is poorly design which partially block the adapter connection. Snapping in the device may cause a mild shock, which may reset your device.

5One awesome PDA
By poconoracing
As a longtime palm user I was a little reluctant to move into the Windows Mobile world, but my old dependable M130 was dying, so I started looking for a new PDA. I travel a ton for business and was fascinated by the GPS in the M5. I was also interested in the WiFi capabilites (with a WiFi Card, I bought a Spectec....it's great, and small enough you won't break it off) of Windows version of the PDA....I read all the reviews and almost didn't buy it, but if you look at the reviews ... the later ones are much better, obviously Garmin has been working on the bugs.Pros:The GPS is top notch, accurate to about 10ft in the car, when mounted on the windshield. The mount that comes with the unit is fine, you don;t need another one. Just make sure the windows is CLEAN....If not it will fall off. Windex it first. You'll also want to move it around some until you find a spot where you can easily get it in and out of the cradle. It will take a few trys until you find the perfect spot in the car.The Windows mobile has abilities my old palm would only dream of, I sync it with lotus notes via intellisync and it works great. It's a tough bugger, I had it a month and dropped it in a parking lot, put a nice gouge in it and it's still going.Battery lasts a long time with steady use, Wifi in the airport, etc.....doesn't do so well with the GPS though, only about 40 minutes. The ETA display is right on, handy when you are calling your next appointment to confirm. If it says you'll be there at 2pm....short of a major traffic jam, you pull in at 2pm.****ConsThe mapping sofware that came with mine is about 2 years out of date. I can tell by a few road projects that have been done locally and are not yet in the mapsource software. Garmin does allow you a free update, which I ordered. I would think that will help. The points of interest are about the same. Even after the free update, from what I can tell the software update only costs about $50The routing is a bit odd, when you select fastest or shortest routing it will do exactly that, even if it makes no sense. For example, on a local road near my house there is a highway that was expanded and moved, it will actually take you off the new road, down the old road and back to the new road because it cuts off a corner. playing with the settings helps, but you will still see it do some odd things. Honestly It always gets me there, just sometimes not the simplest way.****Bottom line is this work just about as well as any in car I've used, and is a solid PDA as well. With a 1GB card I added the entire Northeast, FL, TX and AZ. It took about 450MB of the card.****

5All-weather outdoor area rug
By Monica
This product actually shipped from Home Decorators Collection, which is a company I trust. This rug, as well as a smaller one I also selected, covers a 19' x 20' bedroom balcony. Love the color and pattern. AZ summers are brutal, so I hope the rugs last a while.

5Shipping damage rectified, has operated flawlessly
By Richard Harrison
Unit arrived and was not accepted because it had considerable shipping damage, partly due to an inadequate pallet. Grizzly sent out another unit right away with no hassle. Assembly was relatively easy and all parts were included. Unit has performed flawlessly for about 5 months now. Still have not filled up the collection bags although my shop is a small 1-man shop. The unit was installed outside the shop and when I first turned it on, I could hardly open the shop doors due to the suction. Had to install some relief vents in the shop to allow easier door opening and increase air flow. The remote control only works with line-of-sight and since the unit is located outside my shop, using the remote is inconvenient. Provisions should be made to connect low voltage (24V) hardwired pushbuttons into the unit.

Grizzly G0441 3 HP Cyclone Dust Collector Product Description:

Product Description

Cyclonic action separates the heavy dust particles from the fine particles and drops them into the 55-gallon steel drum. The fine dust travels past the 15-1/2" diameter impeller and is then trapped by a cartridge filter made of spun-bond polyester that filters 99.9% of particles from 0.2 to 2 microns in size. The cartridge filter is pleated to provide 113 square feet of surface area for efficient air movement and a clear plastic bag collects the fine cake that shakes off the filter for consistent dust collector performance. Casters mounted to the drum also make disposal of the larger chips and dust as easy as it gets. We have a limited supply of stock that is CSA certified. Please call 1-800-523-4777 for more details, as these are available upon request only. Shipping exceptions may apply. 2Grizzly: Design Good, Quality Control Poor, Customer Service Fair
By CA Woodworker
I placed an order for this unit direct from Grizzly. They included a free gift in the order . I chose a set of 115 titanium bits. The bit set arrived first. The metal box that contained the bits was low quality with a interfering mechanisms and a catch that didn't line up. Despite the cheesy metal box, I've used the bits several times now and they work well. This made me concerned about the dust collector. My fears were warranted - the box showed up and was beat up. It had some minor crushing and a couple of tears and one good sized hole. The pallet onto which it was stapled had one of the bottom members torn off leaving bare nails sticking out.The box had an extra piece of cardboard taped to the top which appears to be because the box was so beat up that it needed augmentation. The box looked like it had be opened and taped shut several times. Notice this: Grizzly shipped a 425 lb shipment in a cardboard box stapled to a pallet and it is not bolted down. I'm not an expert in this area, but other manufacturers have sent me such large items crated, bolted down, and with steel bands holding everything in place. Most troubling, was that inside, the collector parts were haphazardly placed in a somewhat random fashion with pieces of cardboard taped to parts to try and prevent them from damaging one another during shipping. It didn't work, there was a substantial gouge in the side of the blower housing that was created by a nearby bolt.Aside from all this packaging/shipping/customer service nonsense, I was impressed with how the unit appeared to be designed. The gauge of the steel was heavy, the welds look good, and the manual is excellent. The finish on the replacement intake barrel was good. The finish on the original was fair to poor (rough surface where air would be flowing).Update: after all the hassle of replacing the intake barrel I got the machine assembled and running.I measured the noise level with my meter (keep in mind I have a small shop of about 20x12). It's reading about 87 dbA in operation. Before purchasing, Grizzly claimed it was 83 dbA at one meter (I called and asked, this isn't published). I am satisfied with this 87 dbA at 2 meters. I think it's reasonably close to what they had told me.The collector worked great - for a week. I then started hearing major squeaking from the motor when shutting down the machine that lasts for nearly a minute! After spending more time disassembling the motor w/ technical service on the line to trouble shoot it, we determined the bearings in the motor are bad.I'm now an official believer in all the hoopla about buying American motors. It is such a huge pain-in-the-($#((*$# to replace a motor of this size, I'll never mess with a second rate import motor again.I called back about getting the motor replaced and they told me they can't replace the motor w/o escalating this problem to their home office. The reason, again, being that I hadn't noted the exterior chinks in the packaging on the bill of lading at the time of delivery. In essence, it seemed to me they were saying "if you don't note package damage on the exterior of the box at the time of delivery, your warranty is void". This is despite the fact that I did take digital photos to note it's condition before opening the box and sent them to both Grizzly and Fed-Ex freight. Fed-ex sent out an inspector who seemed to agree with me that both Grizzly and Fed-Ex should take responsibility. As first observer, this looked like more of a problem on Grizzly's end than Fed-Ex.Update: the home office called stating they would pick up the defective motor, repair it, and send me the repaired motor back out. I found this objectionable because of all the previous hassle and additional downtime and asked that they send me a new motor before requiring me to send the old one back. Now waiting for them to get back to me. This motor is 8 feet in the air and probably weighs over 100lbs. It is a major undertaking to disassemble the dust collector and send it to them. I had to hire two additional guys to install it in the first place because I don't have a fork lift.Update 2: although the motor sounds like it has a the bad bearing and considering that I'm a light user of this tool, it is still operating reliably a few years after purchase.

4poor customer service
By Craig Winchester
After purchasing a new table saw in Dec. I decided to get serious and update the shop with a dust collection system. I had been looking at them for years and felt that the time was right for the performance and pricing that was available. After serious research into the subject, I ultimately selected the Grizzly over Clear Vue and Oneida. The machine was ordered in late Dec. and delivered about a week later in excellent shape. I also purchased the grizzly duct system for about $1500. Great stuff but pricey. The first day I assembled the unit with the help of one of my employees. The second day, I assembled the stand assembly and the problems started. I called Grizzly about a clearance problem with the stand when mounting the unit in the lower position. Sent pictures to show interference problems. Grizzly response was that I probably got the wrong filter brackets and they would send new ones. A week later got the replacement brackets and they were the same as the originals. Called Grizzly and they said they would refer the problem to corporate. After no response for a week, Grizzly finally admitted that there was a clearance problem and this was the first time they had run into the problem. I told them that I had assembled and disassembled this unit four times and I was awful tired of it and it's no easy task working on this thing from come-alongs suspended from the ceiling. After another week of delays, the Grizzly solution to my problem was to cut off the stand leg that interfered with the unit, which is what I ultimately did since I was out of time and it had been over a month since I received the unit. It is now working but I have limited time on the machine so I will wait before commenting on the performance of the machine. I own a Grizzly 8" jointer and a 17" drill press and they both are good machines. This particular piece of equipment is a huge disappointment. It in no way equals the advertised features of 360 degree rotation, high or low mounting of the machine, amperage requirements, and a somewhat poor manual.

5Extremely pleased
By T-Dub
I have been a skeptic of purchasing on line, especially items such as those from Grizzly. If they are defective, what recourse to you have, despite all the reviews indicating Grizzly has very good customer support.I ordered the dust collector and it arrived in mint condition. The manual was clear, although it is a manual for at least one additional dust collector and there were a couple of confusing areas. It went together without a hitch. When they recommend help in standing it up they are not kidding, it is very heavy, but once up, very stable. It sounds quiet to me, although I wear ear Protection whenever I operate any type of machinery in my shop. The finish is perfect and durable. One concern I did have was the plastic bag that catches the resideual dust under the filter, however this, again does not seem to be a problem. I collector I received did not have the noise reduction attachment despite that it was advertised to have one, however my point is I don't think it really matters one way or ther other. I am extremely pleased with this product and give it my full endorsement.

2Disappointed
By BookLover99
I bought this bracelet and the matching earrings as a Christmas gift and I REALLY wanted to like them. I was encouraged by all of the positive reviews and was looking forward to getting them in the mail. I was very surprised to find I didn't really like them when I opened them. I have other Swarovski jewelry and absolutely love it, the quality of the crystals look like really nice expensive gems. These look cheap. It does have some sparkle to it, but the colors are really muted and they almost look like plastic beads. Also, I have to agree with the reviewer who commented on the gradation of the crystals. The ones in the middle of the bracelet are significantly bigger and I think it would look much better if they were all the same size. The person I gave it to seemed to like it, so maybe it was just me (or maybe they were just trying to be nice). It's not very often I write negative reviews about anything, I was just so surprised that I didn't like this I felt like I had to share my opinion.

5Sparkle!
By patrushka
Every time I wear my bracelet, I get compliments. This is my favorite bracelet...the colors are beautiful. The crystals sparkle in any kind of light, especially in the sunlight. I would buy this bracelet again for a gift or if I find it in another color, would definitely buy again. Very nice bracelet!

5Lovely Sparkley Bracelet!
By Anne Obrien
I though this bracelet would be primarily lavender colored, but I was delighted to find that it is mostly shades of blue. It has a toggle clasp, which is so much easier to deal with. It's very pretty and sparkley without looking cheap or tacky. If you wear lots of blue, you'll really like this bracelet!

4Plasma Wins!
By S. Johnson
For each LCD bigot who wants to flame this review, remove your hands from the keyboard and take an aspirin. If you're deciding on which technology to buy, skip the technology, get to the stores, and decide by 1) the picture and 2) what you want your TV to do. If you feel a true HD signal is critical, don't buy a 1024x768 Pioneer TV. Find a TV that will support a minimum of 1280x780. If you simply want a great-looking TV with a great picture that your family will use as the living room workhorse and you want to spend the money, strongly consider this Pioneer.Caveat: I consider myself a technically-adept person who enjoys hooking up electronics. Rarely has stereo, TV, or other device directions confused, confounded, or otherwise stymied my eventual setup success.Plasma wins in our household. This television has fantastic picture, a very good and relatively easy-to-program remote, and a fine set of speakers that produce crisp, but not full, sound. Hooking up our DVD player was simple, and progressive scan DVD looks tremendous. Out of the box picture color seemed very red, but changes are easily accessible via the good remote and menu system. (For great directions on how to change contrast, saturation and other items, CNET.com has a fantastic step-by-step guide at http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6463_7-5085739-1.html.) More difficult has been to get the remote to recognize and substitute for our ScientificAtlanta cablebox/DVR. There are only 4 inputs (1 under the front panel) on the receiver box, a limitation if you're heavily invested in audio/visual equipment.Be aware that the shipping box weighs 174 pounds, with six boxes inside. Setup is not difficult with a modicum of patience; for example, figuring out which mounting brackets to use based on the speakers that come with the TV is buried in multiple step directions. This is a fine television. It looks beautiful as any fine furniture would, and it functions exactly as we need it to. Picture is very good, and the remote is backlit and nicely laid out. Now, prepare yourself for seeing a lot of standard TV get s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d until you learn about the Screen Size button on the remote...

3Sturdy Rack But...
By R. Wilson
Rack arrived with a hole in one corner of the box. There was absolutely no paperwork with the item - including nothing in writing regarding the 5 year no sag claim or any other kind of warranty. I haven't even used the rack yet and already 6 wheel bearings have fallen out from one wheel where the swivel is particularly loose.UPDATE: I notified the seller about the wheel problem, and they promptly sent me a replacement wheel. Good thing as wheel bearings continued to fall out making the rack unsafe to use. The wheel was harder to replace than I expected because there was an internal reinforcement sleeve (good) but it was out of alignment with the holes in the metal tube (bad.) I would not normally have done this, as the wheels come pre-installed, but while I was at it I checked the tightness of all the wheel nuts (3/4" socket) and found that 2 of them were not very tight. I would suggest that for long-term safety reasons that everyone should confirm the tightness of the nuts securing the wheels to the frame.

5Great Gament Rack
By David Ross
This is a well designed and nicely made garment rack that can hold upwards of 40 coats (total) on two rails. Wheeled, collapsable for transport or storage, utilitarian with a 250 pound weight limit. Working well for us in a public space. Very reasonably priced at $98 for the large capacity. The packaging (and thus protection during shipping) by Garment Racks etc of this item was marginal and the item arrived somewhat marred. With a bit of prodding they issued a $15 credit which was fully acceptable to me. Recent feedback ratings seem good however so I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them.

5Very Sturdy
By C. Ann
I was very surprised when I received this item. It is very sturdy but surprisingly easy to move around. The wheels are also quality wheels. When it arrived the box was almost demolished. All the batteringdidn't hurt the rack at all. I love it!**Update - Nov 2012 (4+ yrs) and it's still holding-up just perfectly. The cheaper ones just don't hold-up.It gets used and moved around daily. It is a large rack but worth it. Not sorry I purchased it.
