5Great helmet, fits well
By Zippo
I bought this helmet for Search & Rescue use, and it's great. I have a large head and this is the only helmet I've tried that fits me comfortably. The vents are a plus, too for comfort. I've added a removable visor to the front (have to remove it for use around helicopters). All around, a great helmet for SAR use, and well worth the premium money.

5Petzel Vertex Vent Helmet
By AZMtnBikr
This helmet fits great. Very comfortable. Better than others I have worn. The closeable vent is great for air movement when it is hot. When the wind is blowing, you can close the vent to get rid of the whistling sound you get with open vent helmets. The adjustable headband is one of the easiest to work with and it is built to last. The helmet works very well with headphones.I would recommend this helmet to anyone who wants a great helmet for climbing or mountain rescue work .

5climbing helmet
By Scott Langner
This is a great helmet. It adusts really well and is very comfortable.I recentely took a 20'+ fall and the helmet took a beating but my head came through fine. The suspension system is much superior to a foam filled helmet but you do gain a few ounces of weight which for me was not a factor.Overall a very goog helmet that I would not hesitate to recomend to a friend

2Lello still has some design work to do
By J. P. Desimone
I am not impressed. I recently purchased this machine with high hopes that technology had advanced enough to out perform my old worn out, long retired early 90's vintage "Pasta Express From CTC".There are those instances when time is short it would be nice to not make pasta by hand using a more traditional pasta roller/cutter. So I decided to give this machine a try thinking Lello may have got it right by watching what designs didn't work with other vendors of similar machines over the years. But after three uses it is in my opinion a marginal improvement.First the good points...It's mixes the flour into pasta dough very well. The design of the stirring paddles do a decent job of mixing the flour and water together. Using Semolina and whole wheat blend you can generally get perfect consistency dough in about 10-15 mins.Single direction operating motor for both mixing and extruding. Gone is the need to flip a direction switch for each operation.Simple operation to swap out extrusion die, and its metal outer ring makes cutting off the pasta easy with a single scrape of a knife blade.Solid construction. This machine is heavy and definitely stays put on the counter top when operating.Clean up is pretty simple (use the let it dry dirty method) and all parts disassemble easily. The extrusion auger chamber was the only component that was hardest to clean.Well written recipe instruction booklet. Now the not so good points...Yep... it's made in China (did you expect no less?).Very noisy. When in operation the motor reduction gears are really LOUD! My first impression was perhaps the unit needs some time to "break in". Nope... the idler gear for the extrusion auger is rattling away sounding like it's in dire need of some grease. The noise this thing makes when mixing dough made me wonder if I shouldn't take it down to the nearest AAMCO transmission shop for a tune up. This is a food processing appliance but it sounds like a gravel yard rock crusher. It had me reaching for my ear plugs. However when under load i.e. extruding pasta it seems to quite down a tiny bit. This machine is one of the noisier appliances in my kitchen, second only to the blender.Extrusion speed. Can you say sloooooooooooooooow ! I've literally made a ton of pasta over the years using other techniques and this machine is painfully slow. It seems to take forever auto-loading the auger slot and produce pasta on the other end. Once it gets going the pasta oozing from the extrusion die creeps along. Many times the stirring paddles in the mixing bowl fail to push enough material into the auger slot to keep the extruded pasta coming out at a constant rate. This requires you to frequently stop the machine, rearrange the dough, and start it up again. Not very "automatic" in my view, more like semi-auto. Lello definitely needs to rethink how to improve the auger/extrusion chamber components, especially the dough feed slot. This in my view is it's weakest design point.Smelly. My new machine smelled like paint fumes when operating. Not sure exactly what is causing the odor, but once the motor had been running for a few minutes (empty or full mixing bowl) and the reduction gear oil or motor windings got warm, it smelled like old lead paint. Not very appealing when making fresh delicious pasta. Now the components that are in contact with the food appear to be mostly food grade polycarbonate plastic. But when you smell paint like fumes wafting out from the motor ventilation holes, it definitely evokes thoughts of the recent issues regarding lead tainted plastic in products coming from China. All in all I give this unit 2 stars. I find mixing the flour in a bowl or mixer and using a traditional pasta roller/cutting machine is overall quicker, and much more straight forward. Plus there is nothing like getting personal with the food you eat by using your own hands to prepare it. Sure it's a wee bit messy, but the time spent making your pasta manually and cleaning up after will overall be less than the time it takes to make the same amount using this machine. I sent my machine back for a refund. Perhaps I'll wait another 15 years before trying another "automatic" pasta maker again.

5Works just like it says it will
By TERRIE MIXER
I checked out several brands before deciding on this one. I followed the directions exactly, and the pasta came out perfect. it makes up to 3 pounds of pasta each time. That's a lot of pasta. But, you can freeze the leftover that you don't need right now. the noodles are not sticky and they cook fast. the fettucine cooked in 3 minutes after water boiled. I have no regrets.

5follow the directions
By Joshua Hughes
If you weigh the ingredients, you'll find the dough is perfect with no fiddling required. I've done all-purpose flour with egg, all-purpose flour with water (reminds me of asian noodles), semolina with a 1/2-1/2 egg water improvisation, and they've all turned out great (tried about 1/2 of the included dies to date - no problems with any).It appears to be built very well.To the review of the person who ditched it said they need to constantly push the dough into the auger. I usually have to do this 1 time per batch (takes less than 10 seconds), so I'd chalk that up to operator error. Its slow to extrude (at first!) About 1 minute after the pasta starts coming out of the die, it goes PLENTY fast enough. No question - this machine is loud... not loud enough to ding it a star however... I just jack the stereo up louder!

5Love this phone!
By David Bock
This is the third time I have bought a phone system with one base and multiple handsets, and this is the best one I have used so far. The reasons range from trivial (I like the sounds of the ring tones), to significant (you can use multiple handsets at once). The two most important features for me before purchase were:1) 5.8 Ghz spread spectrum. My old phone was a 2.4 Ghz, and it would occasionally interfere with my wireless computer network. It was very annoying. My moving to a phone that uses a different frequency range, the problem is completely avoided.2) The ability to use multiple handsets at the same time. Another phone I previously had would not let two handsets talk in the same conversation at the same time. This was just miserable. This phone lets you do this without any problems. After purchase, I found that it had some other amazing features:1) Each phone has a unique ID, and you can conference between the handsets. With the range this phone has, my wife and I now carry them around outside (we have a 3 acre yard) and use them to talk to each other.2) The phone has an AMAZING speakerphone capability on each handset! This was not on my radar at all, but it is really useful.3) When playing back messages it has recorded, it shows you the caller ID entry for the message. Really nice touch.4) While I don't know much about it yet, I can apparently keep the numbers in the phone's phonebook in sync with those stored in Outlook in my computer. I can also download new ringtones, but that's not so importent to me. More info on this is available at www.openlcr.com.The ONLY annoying thing about this phone is that when you answer a call on one handset, the other two handsets register it as a 'missed call' in the caller ID list. I considered rating it 4 stars for this, but once you get used to it, the rest of the features more than make up for it.

5Simply the BEST
By R. Barnes
Save your time, and your money...this is the phone you want. I have tried them all, and Panasonics last for years and never let us down. We use this system on our Voip, Packet 8 service and it works perfectly. It is so loaded with handy and useful features, that we are spoiled by it. We rush to answer the phone as this is such a pleasure to use. Panasonic really outdid themselves with the 5433, we just love it. You enter all your phone numbers in one handset and it will copy them over to the other two handsets for you...one at a time or all at once, truly a neat feature. You set the time on one set, any one you like, and the other two handsets pick it up automatically. Did I mention we are happy?

4A Great phone with a few minor flaws
By Bill
I've done quite a bit of research to ensure the next phone I buy would work well for my family. I ended up with this Panasonic. This is my first Panasonic phone and time will tell with regards to long term reliability. I've owned the phone for about a month now and thought I would share a few comments. Its range is fair. I've seen better in a 2.8GHz model. To quantify this: I was hoping to be able to use this at a neighbor's house, approx 75 yards down the street. I've placed the receiver near a window. The phone works fantastic until I get to their front door. Not a big problem, just a small disappointment because I've seen another phone with this capability. There are no issues in my own house or throughout the yard. I guess that's what they make cell phones for...The "talk" and the "off" buttons are small, and they do not light up with the rest of the keypad. This is not much of an issue once your fingers begin remembering where the buttons are, but can be frustrating when attempting to answer the phone in the dark. The menu system is pretty good, though I would like to see a feature to be able to copy it's internal phone book to all handsets at one time. You have to select which handset to copy to, copy the phone book, and then do it again for the next handset. Pretty picky issue, but hey.. It would be nice.I've had several experiences with the caller on the other end of the line asking me to speak up; I've never had this issue in the past, and have used many different phones. This may be because the phone is relatively short, leaving the microphone about an inch or so above the mouth. The caller ID works well, but will show as a missed call on all handsets except the one that answered the call. This is quite annoying and should be fixed by Panasonic. This is one of the few phones I've seen that can have two or more handsets talking at the same time. This works very well and is not well advertised on the packaging or even at Panasonics website. THIS IS THE FEATURE THAT MADE ME CHOOSE THIS PHONE. I would think others would like this as well, since other phones that I've seen do not do that.I've listed several small annoyances, though the good does outweigh the bad. I do like this phone system and would buy again. This is definitely one of the best out there.

510+ Stars! Superb Expandable Cordless Phone System
By OutNumbered
Awesome phone! Let me first say that within this past year my husband and I bought every expandable and non expandable phone available. Yes we tried them all from Uniden to Motorolla to Vtech and this one blows them all out of the water!Pro's1. Very user friendly. I am not the type of person to read instructions and with this phone I didn't need to.2. 5.8 GHz is awesome! I live in a large apartment and I can walk all the way down to my laundry room (about 100 yards away) and still have a crystal clear connection!3. Phonebook holds up to 50 numbers plus the phonebook is transferable meaning you only have to program one phone and then you can send it to the other 2 handsets.4. Great speaker phone. Loud and very clear.5. Light-up indicator to let you know if you have a call coming in, a good feature if you have sleeping babes or loved ones who wake up when the phone rings and you constantly turn your ringer off. Also lets you know if you have a voicemail waiting.6. Backlight is bright orange and makes the screen easy to read.7. Great ringtones. You can download ringtones to this phone if you wish, but I choose not to.8. You can assign different ringtones to different people in your phonebook and also different colors for the light-up indicator to different people. This way you know who is calling without having to run to the phone, whether the ringer is on or off.9. Great battery life. I left my phone off the charger for 2 days once and still had battery life. I use a phone constantly throughout the day and this phone holds up better than any phone I have ever owned.10. Very attractive and the perfect size. All of the other phones I owned were either to big and bulky or so small and flimsy.11. Did I mention that this phone has crystal clear reception and is so easy to use!!Con's1. I was told that if you download a song to this phone, you can only download one song to one phone, so you would have to download up to 3 times to get one song on all your phones. Not a big deal to me cause I don't really care to download songs to my phone.2. 3 handsets was a bit much even for my large 1200 sqft apartment. The store didn't have a 2 handset version though I do think Panasonic makes one. Not really a con nor Panasonics fault for that either.3. As with most expandables you can only press the phone locator from the main base. This doesn't seem very logical to me since most people buy an expandable to put all over their house. With a 1 year old around, our phones get hidden all over the house, so to find them we have to run to the bedroom, press the locator, then run around the house to find the where the missing phones are. It's not really that big of a deal I guess, but it is kind of a pain! That's about it for the con's. Not too many at all huh! This really is a great phone. It may not have the best ringtones or the coolest downloadable features like some phones do, but it has what is really important and then some.

5Can you hear me now? Yes!
By E. Burian-Mohr
I can't add to the glowing prose already bequeathed upon this phone by other reviewers. What I can say is that I can finally hear my callers. After a miserable run with various cordless phones (V-Tech, AT&T), I was frustrated because every caller sounded as if he was in a water-filled barrel going over Niagara Falls. But here, the sound is clear as a bell. And that's what it's all about.

5You Get What You Pay For -- Get a Panasonic
By CharlieD
Unlike other manufacturer's phones with this feature set, Panasonic is able to deliver on these three important qualities:1) Clear incoming sound2) Clear outgoing sound3) Reliable cordless operationReminder: A telephone is a communication device. While I love extra bells and whistles as much as the next tech addict (downloadable ringtones, animated display, sleek, exciting, form factor), a phone has a these primary jobs to do -- allowing me to hear, letting others hear me, and doing both of these while performing reliably.I have tried to get by for less money with three other 5.8 GHz, multi-handset phone systems from three other manufacturers, and one or more of the above qualities always seems to be lacking. Panasonic may not produce the sexiest phones on the market, but it puts solid engineering into the most essential functions. Uniden, VTech, Motorola, etc. could all benefit from paying a little more attention to the primary utility of a phone. My quibbles with this phone:1) When a headset is connected, the microphone volume suffers a little. This is a high-quality headset that has no problems on other phones, but the volume on this phone is reduced.2) Okay, I really WOULD like more ringtones. There seems to be some confusion on this point, but this phone does NOT allow one to download additional ringtones. That is possible with a similar Panasonic model (KX-TG5433M).3) The display is readable, but a higher contrast LCD would ease use for people of a certain age.Complaints aside, this system trounces the competition in performance, and is highly recommended.

5Actually It's - Perfect
By doner
If you just need:- 1 phone- an integrated answering machine- easy to useThis is the perfect phone. It has all the usual features: remote and handset answering machine message retrieval, intercom, mute, date/time stamp, phone book, missed call listing and caller ID. Here's a couple of additional cool features. First, there's a speakerphone, nice touch. Next, silient ring (there's a light on the antenna that lights up if you turn the ringer off). Finally, you can choose from several ringtones. You can also get an optional headset, I did.OK, one minus that was already mentioned in other reviews - no volume control. I can hear OK, but there may be times where I would like to kick it up a notch.Good price, nice phone.doner likes.

5ALL I NEEDED WAS THIS PHONE~!!!!!
By Tradeand5
You know? Who thinks TWICE about the phone once you purchase it, and use it? When you are looking for one, you spend time, do research, etc. I did the same, and found out all are about the same, except PRICE, and DESIGN. All I wanted was something BASIC, RELIABLE, GOOD DESIGN, GOOD SOUND QUALITY, and NOT EXPENSIVE. I also did not need SECOND HAND SET, not higher Range. Get Real, this is more than enough to use around a house~!!! So this FITs into all of my needs. and I have it here with me now. I just LOVE IT. PERIOD. Why spend MORE????

4answered the call...
By S. Morse
The phone itself is smaller than I expected: if you're used to 1990's phone sizes you'll be surprised. For those who haven't been living under a rock though the phone holds few surprises. The nicest result of buying this unit was sweeping the old answering machine, cordless phone, cradle, and caller ID unit off the small, crowded telephone table with one sweep. Whew! Love the all-in-one! And at a very reasonable price. No complaints after 4 weeks, and we can be fussy about details. Advertised rebate ($10) never materialized. And whatever you do, hang onto your "land line": at least 1 per home. You can't use the cordless when the power goes out, and in populated areas it is not secure for giving sensitive information out.

5walk and listen
By Charlotte Ellington
My husband runs and loves to listen to books on tape. He had the "old" model, purchased in the 90's and since tape players are probably on the way out, I was glad to find this one. It is excellent. He can run, listen, and no skipping.

5Sony Cassette Walkman
By Amy Adam
I purchased this with the idea to listen to books while exercising. The sound is very clear, has a long battery life and I have been able to locate numerous cassette books at very affordable prices on Ebay. I have also listened to it on long car trips and enjoyed it very much. It is very easy to use and is relatively compact. It has already been dropped a few times and hasn't seemed to affect the performance yet. It has been used steadily since I have received it approximately 6 weeks ago.

3Mediocre performance and design
By Richard Starkman
Sound quality is actually pretty good, but design, build quality and ease of use just fair. Buttons feel cheap and flimsy and the lack of auto reverse makes it a bit of a pain to use. Battery life however seems quite good.

This player is the best for only 40 bucks at walmart. It has a lot of features, including custom equalizer, 3x bass boost, track time left, and it also memorizes your place and resumes it after you stop it and play it again. It also only uses 1 battery at a time and lives for up to 41 hours on just that one battery.Minor problems: buttons kind of small and sound is not the best quality at the highest volume, and no backlight (if this is a big problem for you, bring a flashlight). But it is overall the best product out there you can get inexpensively with tons of great features and a massive crapload of mp3 memory and features. However, I must edit this review now to say that I got a cheap Creative MuVo mp3 player and it is MUCH better.

5great product !

It has been a while since I have been so very impressed with a product. Unless you need to spend hundreds more for peer approval, this product will fit almost anyone's need for MP3 playback. Easy to use, thin, sleek styling, intuitive, logical, lightweight yet tough ...just like something SONY would do. Although I am not an exclusive brand addict, this product moves my purchasing compass clearly in their direction once again. The ATRAC software loads and executes flawlessly, very easy to use with logical organizing structures. Finished result sounds great. With it you get plenty of capacity - I put over 30 full albums on one CD-RW. Playback sound dimensions (awesome) can be tailored for any preference via several options of preset types or self-programmed setting. The included earbuds are also great which is unusual. Battery life (one AA) goes on and on just like the package claims, which is testimony to the efficient design technology behind the whole unit. LCD display is clear and easy to read under most light. Could use a nightlight but for the price who's complaining. Variety of display options is appreciated, as are the other playback and organizing options too many to list here. I've had this unit for over a month now and love it more everyday. Way more than I expected for the money, and I don't often say that. Thanks, SONY.

5A cheaper, less advertized, but nonetheless great version of an iPod

For the past three years, I've had the same, twenty-dollar piece of crap c.d. player that you could buy from Target in the clearance section. I hated its guts,I can tell you, mainly because it was big and bulky and cheap and not an MP3. My experience with crappy c.d. players soured my look on electronics, but then, on my birthday, there was salvation. A friend bought me the D-NE319 and my whole outlook on c.d. players changed. This is a great MP3 player for the money. Seriously.Pros:>Tough as nails. I've dropped mine three times on cement and once on a treadmill (not on purpose, of course) and the thing still lives and breathes today.>Great sound system for the money. If I got better earphones instead of the buds I have (which aren't too bad, mind you) the sound coming out of my player would be amazing.>Incredible software program. I've crammed over 30 c.d.'s onto one, normal, 700MB c.d.>Lightweight, fits pretty well in the hand. Is great to jog with.>Has a nice, sleek look.Cons:>Makes weird squeaky noise when it's reading a c.d. Kinda creepy.>Like most people have said, this MP3 doesn't have an LCD screen, making it difficult to read or find music during the night.>Once you make an ATRAC MP3 c.d., you can't play it on any other MP3 player except Sony. A cruel marketing scheme.Altogether, this is a steal of a c.d. player for the money. Instead of getting an iPod, which has more memory than you'll ever honest to God need, and would send you to the poorhouse because of the price, you should get this Sony Walkman, because it is a steal for the money and is just great all around. I know I'm going to have mine around for a long time.
