I have this Original Autolock by Lawman along with my alarm it provides great deal of security. I have a civic and acura both got stolen few times after I got the alarm and autolock nobody wants to touch it. If they do the alarm goes off and if they do brake in I have the autolock to secure the clutch and brake. Then I come out with my 357 and Glock. They are not going anywhere I am done with them. Great peace of mind along with an alarm car is going nowhere while I am home. Several times I have seen with my camera they come check out the car see the autolock and they just leave. Good deal if you can afford it and keep your car a little safe.

I've had this lock since 2003 and it's saved two different cars from being stolen. In 2003 it saved a 1988 Honda Prelude and was stock. This year in 2011 it just saved a 1994 Acura Integra and was modified. Unmodified it isn't a good unit because thieves just take a crowbar and bend the long arm enough to disengage it. However if you set it and mark how high the bar comes up to you can have a welder weld a thick metal plate above this point to reinforce the arms, making it much stronger and impossible for a thief to get past without making a huge racket from sawing or using a tow truck. You just can't cut this kind of plate with the equipment thieves use so they give up and go on to an easier target. For the second attempt I could tell that the thief used a handheld portable circular saw and couldn't cut the plate or lock (it had thin saw groves all over it). Another good thing to do is VINGuard etch mark the windows to further discourage them (they would have to replace the glass if they stole the car and didn't export the car to another country.

Just got it for my new Camry. Seemed very secured except the key was too difficult to be unlocked. I spent 20 minutes to unlock it for the first tome use. It Maybe secured from being stolen but could be life threatening if I could not get it out and move my car for emergency. Yet, considering having to pay for returning cost, I decided to give it a try. Btw, the box was opened when I received and one of the lock cap fell out. Was it a defect one fromprevious return. My husband loves the one he used so I hope it will not be a wrong decision to keep it.
