By Daniel A. Rola
If you're looking for a quality pre-amp for a reasonable price, you've gotta check out this Stereo Tube Pre-Amp from PreSonus. I use it with the C-1 large condenser mic from Studio Projects and another AKG large condenser mic. The warmth and clarity that is added by the pre-amp is amazing. Sure, you could spend a few thousand on a high end pre-amp, but that's why you go into the studio right?? I mainly use this for songwriting and demo type recordings. When I'm writing or creating a new arrangement for a song, I usually just record the trax on the go with my MacBook or in my garage on my iMac. It still gives quality and clarity which make for great sounding tracks and gives me a lot of usable material to work with throughout the recording process. I highly recommend this unit for anyone with a home or mobile studio.

By Chris Paracelsus
After using the bluetube for 2 month. The product is great for the price. I recorded a vocalist, put in a Blue, Bluebird microphone, plug into the bluetube, that went into a Echo Audio Firewire 8. The sounds was outstanding; very natural and clear, I added a notch or two of the tube distortion that really warmed it up. I havn't tested out with a different vacuum tube, but it is very easy to change it. A few things that I didn't like.1. No power off switch.2. Knobs could a little bigger for better grip.3. The bottom could be a little higher for air circulation.4. Assemble in Communist China that does not support human rights or sustainability.I would still bought if it cost a hundred more and was made elsewhere. I would also have less guilt. If I knew the facts, I would of gone with a Grace Design M101. If you are working with audio as a small business, a grace design pre-amp would be better investment. If you if your audio is a hobby, student, garage band recording, than the Presonus Bluetube would suffice. Overall, its still a very good pre-amp for recording with plenty of configurations and options. It also works great with a pair of stereo microphone, since it has 2 channels with polarity shift.

By AudioEsoterica
Look, you want a reasonably priced tube preamp, right? This is the one...provided you change the stock tube. It is rubbish and exists only to hurt your feelings. Research the character of different tubes and get an awesome replacement. I got my hand son some NOS RCA 12ax7 tubes a few years ago, and they make this thing sound about $200 more expensive. It's one of my go-to pre-amps now, great aggressive harmonicly rich tone, and the drive knob adds a nice crunchy character...ASSUMING you changed that tube!DO IT.
