These babies are universally hailed as THE surround speaker. I can't disagree. Their ability to envelope you in sound is amazing. Watching a movie that has any 'rain' scenes is a trip. You'll think you're getting wet!Given that enveloping ability, they are also superb at directional sound if need be.Simply put, if you're in the market for some new surround speakers. These should be at the top of your list.

I have tried quite a few different types of surround speakers in my theater room and none of them and I MEAN NONE can compare to the Axiom QS-8's they are very forgiving when it comes to placement if you have a difficult room that you are mounting them in. I have QS-8s in the rear sides of my theater room and a set of the smaller QS-4's I have in the back. To watch a movie the first time with them is a unique experience, There are 2 main scenes from Master and Commander that will blow your mind, the scene when you are under the deck and the ship has called for general quarters, you can hear the deck above you creaking and the sound of people walking across the the deck. and the scene in the fog just after general quarters when the captain is looking through the spyglass and the French ship starts firing it's cannons at the ship, you can feel every splintered mast shatter when hit by the cannonballs the sound-scape is mesmerizing!!! a true test to what a quality set of surrounds can do!

These speakers were reccomended by a co-worker. He was not wrong. Great sound at a reasonable price. Make sure there is room. They will not work on shelves.
