very satisfied customer

I teach a weekly non-denominational adult Bible study, and as the group grew larger it became difficult for some to hear me speak. I purchased an AmpliVox Buddy amplifier but found the hand held microphone to be quite cumbersome. My wife then ordered the AmpliVox S1600 wireless microphone system (with lapel mic)for me. It is an excellent product and picks up the sound easily. Even persons sitting at the opposite end of the large room (some of whom are "hard of hearing") report that they can hear and understand every word. Soviet-Era Catastrophe

It was like Christmas morning when my hole punch arrived at my office. I had visions of punching through reams of paper with the greatest of ease - no more jams, no more awkward ergonomics, just pure punching delight.My elation slowly turned to confusion when I unboxed the punch. In front of me sat what looked like a cheap Soviet-bloc era stamped metal hole punch. I quickly loaded in a sheet of paper and depressed the lever. Flip! The action of pushing down the lever flipped the unit on its side. I inspected the newly punched sheet only to discover that the piston did not cleanly separate the "chad" from the hole. "Clearly, I must not have done this right." I thought to myself. I loaded up another sheet, and then another, only to discover that each time I depressed the lever, the unit would flip on its side and would leave the "chad" on the sheet.Undaunted, I will continue my search for the elusive grand daddy of hole punchers.I believe the inherent problem with the unit is it is unbalanced (the position of the lever in relation to the width of the base) and the piston does not depress far enough into the hole to get a clean cutting action. Fondly, I recall my father having a similar unit which was produced in the 70s that has lasted to this day. The build was wonderful and made of quality parts - it did not flip. Despite its weight and size, it feels cheap and because of its obvious design flaws was returned.As an aside, please note that while some people were excited about the oversized holes the punch makes, I found the nearly dime sized holes are ginormous. But that is not a problem with the unit, just a potential problem not visualizing how big the oversize holes were going to be.

3-hole Master Punch

We needed a heavy-duty 3-hole punch that would allow for punching holes larger than the standard 9/32" diameter hole. Punches with larger punch heads are hard to find. But Amazon came through for us and had this one available. It is working just fine for our needs. My husband works with some very larger binders, and having a punch that can provide these extra large punch holes made all the difference.

This is the one to get if you are looking for a life-time, quality hole punch that can punch huge numbers of papers and get it right. I have one of these at work, one at home. Every now and then someone "steals" the thing, but I've been lucky because they've been returned.

A sleek watch at a good price!

Being somewhat picky and not much of a watch enthusiast, I did a bit of research to try and find a nice looking watch that ultimately didn't at all feel like I was wearing a watch. I visited several Jewelers as well as a handful of watch shops when I stumbled accross this Skagen watch. I was immediately struck by the beauty of the black titanium as well as how thin the watch and band were.A little more research lead to my recent purchase of this beautiful watch. So far I'm in love with it! The luminous hands and numbers leave a little to be desired as they need to be exposed to a bright light before being visible in the dark (and if you have a bright light, why would you even need luminous hands?). Regardless, the bright numbers and hands are fairly easy to see even in low light due to the way they catch the available light on their own.This watch is sleek, light weight and comfortable. I'm a very satisfied customer.

Very Nice Watch

This is a very nice watch; and when you consider the fact that it is under a hundred dollars, it's a bargain too. The watch is very light and thin, however, the face is large enough to read easily. The band is capable of fine adjustment, which is easily done by the wearer, allowing the watch to fit any wrist perfectly. Further, the band, although made of metal, is very comfortable and doesn't pull wrist and arm hair. It is a classy looking watch that fits well with casual or dress attire.

Great Value

The watch is extremely thin and sleek. I have gotten quite a few compliments on this watch, and I think it goes well with about anything. The clasp is very effective as it has a hook, a clasp, and a safety clasp to keep it attached. The clasp is also very simple to use once you figure it out (which took me about three minutes). The numbers are large and easy to read (which wasn't really a concern for me but it is still nice). Overall I am extremely pleased with this very light and inexpensive yet good looking watch.Update: While this is an excellent watch, it is not very durable. I only wear it for the daily activities of a college student and am pretty careful not to bang it on things. However, about 6 months after I bought it I started noticing some minor scratches, and within a year it had a major crack in the face crystal. Also after about a year I had problems with the band, which eventually broke apart. I still love this watch and I would like to buy another one, but the lack of durability makes it a bad value for me.

High Quality Low Cost

I have 14 of these speakers...7 for the home theater and 7 for the master bedroom. These come under a couple of different brand names; Carver and Audiovox but they contain the same exact speakers and crossovers (I've taken them apart).Phoenix Gold is the real manufacturer...but I don't get hung up on names. Just know that the speaker stands and bases for the Audiovox don't fit the Carvers and vice-versa. The Carvers are 16" long and the Audiovox are 20" long. Each are only 3 1/2" deep. The enclosures and grills are aluminum and I think the end caps are plastic.Ok, I'm in my fifties and have been a life-long lover of movies and music. In my younger years I also played saxophone professionally. I've had many major brands of speakers and my favorites had always been my 1969 Wharfedale 4-way speakers with solid walnut wood enclosures filled with sand. These models were auditioned at Carnegie Hall by Wharfedale and supposedly the audience couldn't tell the difference between a live orchestra and the speakers. Now, I find that hard to believe but at least the demonstration shows the Wharfedale Company put some sort of faith in their products.These Audiovox/Carver speakers are superb. They are rated up to 20khz and down to 90hz +- 2.5 db. This lower level seems to be an accurate description as the Audyssey setup on my Denon 1909 receiver shows a minimum of 90 and even 80hz. As for the 20khz, I can't measure that but they produce crystal clear highs and midrange without being the least bit boomy or muddy. My wife has sensitive ears (they hurt easily) and this is one of the few speakers I've had where she says she loves the sound. I'm sure in a blindfold test the so-called high-end speaker company's products couldn't be told apart.The all-important dialogue in movies that comes out of these speakers is phenomenal. I've been using these for over a year and still marvel at the sound quality. The build quality is also extremely well done.Ok, that's my take...but it's just an opinion...but I can't see how you could go wrong. If you're thinking of buying these start out with one pair like I did. I don't think it will be long until you're up to 5 or 6 or 7 or 14.

Good, but not great.

These are good for the price if you are putting your system together on a tight budget. The picture makes them look black and the desription said "charcoal grey". I don't think that they are charcoal, more like a pewter color. So for those of you tring to have everything match you may have to paint them. The awkward dimensions fit perfectly for what I needed. Just wondering if I had used two of the 220C instead if they would be any clearer or if it is just the same speaker with the logo on the side of the grill inseated of the bottom.

good value, comfortable and stylish

January 2006 -This watch replaced a more expensive Swatch Skin product I had worn for about 6 years. While it is physically larger and heavier than the Swatch, I actually find it just as comfortable. I have a fairly thin wrist and a lot of hair, so I am pretty sensitive to how the band works and adjusts. The Skagen band took me a minute to figure out ... but once mastered, it is very easy to adjust and to latch and is very comfortable. Stays in place, no pinching, no hair pulling.I like the look of the watch. I don't think the watch mechanism is actually that thin, but Skagen makes it appear thin by tapering the case to the oversized face and wide band. If you like the look, it is a comfortable, durable watch, which I think looks far more expensive than it is. I also like the understated color of this particular model: I think it looks "sophisticated", though my wife thinks it is dreary. To each their own ... there are plenty of color schemes to pick from (this was on sale when I bought it).Update June 2010 -I noticed there still seems to be some availability for this watch, so an update 4+ years later is in order. The watch has held up very well for me and has continued to be comfortable. The band clasp has loosened a bit over time, such that it can hook on things and open up. Have replaced the battery once. But really it has held up very well, no cracked crystals or other major problems that I see in others' comments.My one problem is that somehow about a year ago I creased the mesh band. This led to wire ends sticking out in two places. Nasty little things, drew blood at least once before I clipped them off. Even then, there were rough spots that would hook any light synthetic clothing I was wearing. I finally broke down a few weeks ago and ordered a replacement from Skagen for $25 (which includes the clasp, so in theory will fix all issues). Waiting on that.For me this watch has been a very good value. Extremely accurate, comfortable and durable.

Excellent men's watch for a low price

This is really a great watch. It has a thin profile, and flexible metal band that eliminates the two main problems I have with other men's watches: they're too bulky, and the chain catches on my wrist.I have gotten numerous comments on my watch after wearing it around for a while, and it really does look great. Comparably inexpensive , so I'd recommend it highly.It should be noted that this a quartz watch, so there are no fine swiss mechanics going on inside, but if you care about style and budget then this is a good watch for you.

LOVE IT! GREAT VALUE!

I bought this watch for my boyfriend, he loves it. The watch goes with everything, casual and dressy. The watch is very simple and understated. The watch is great for guys who typically do not wear watches. I say that because it is thin and light. We both love the band it makes it very comfortable to wear and easy to adjust. This is the only affordable watch I could find that was titanium. Titanium is awesome because it holds up well, is strong, light, and maintains a great look. The watch looks amazing. I orginally bought this watch at a department store and then I found it on Amazon pretty much for half price. I ended up saving 70 dollars so that was great. My boyfriend loves his watch and he feels like he was spoiled but really I just got a great bargain. Skagen is also a great company. I view Skagen as the most affordable brand for what you get. You can always find a good watch from them but for a fair price as well.

Low Profile For the Rest of Us

Shopping for a new watch has been very frustrating. Every watch out there seems to be way too thick, exactly the thing I detest, especially when wearing a long sleeve shirt. I've been looking for a watch in the $100 range, that would be just as thin as my Gucci. No luck. Then I stumbled upon Skagen while shopping for watches. It was the jeweler who was wearing one, and the wonderful deep blue face with the titanium shell is what grabbed my eye at first. Then it was the band, unlike any other metal band I've seen before. A trip to Amazon, with a great price and free shipping, and my search was over.I have NEVER owned a watch with a metal band before in my life, and I'm in my 40's. They never felt secure to me, and besides, I've always heard about getting your hairs caught. Leather bands have their drawbacks as well, but this band by Skagen appears to be the best of all worlds. The beautifully sublime titanium toned band is secure and attractive, and for those who think the clasp is too "complex" I'm sorry but obviously you have never encountered European engineering at it's best.Finally, I needed a watch that I could synchronize to the second, so I opted for this style which is $5 less than the model without the second hand and the date function from amazing Amazon. The only thing I wish that was different on this watch was that it would have Roman numerals on the face. But this is so minor, that I still rate this elegant and quality watch with a resounding 5 *****Edit: May 2009 It's now 2 1/2 years since I've been wearing this watch on a daily basis. The watch is still an extremely accurate timepiece, and it still looks as good as the day I bought it! Who could ask for more?

Testament of durability.

I haven't worn a watch in years. I wanted to purchase something to go with my business casual dress that would not be too overpowering and still be nice. I had been eyeing this watch for awhile and finally decided to splurge.The watch seemed to be a bit too flashy for me when wearing blue jeans and t shirts, but that ok with me. The latch seemed to be a little bit tricky at first. Once I read the users manual and figured out how to use it I was ok.The reason for writing this article was for its durability. I took it on vacation but didn't want to wear it through security checkpoints. I decided I would stick it in a sock and just check the bag. Once I did this and got home I decided I would wash all of my laundry. Of course I forgot and left the watch in the sock. It goes through the washer and dryer, comes out still ticking. No scratches or anything. I'm impressed!

Great watch for dress or casual!

This is a very attractive watch - much nicer than the picture depicts. It has a deep blue sunburst dial (much like another Skagen shown on Amazon). It is very slender and the band is a standard double latch design. The band is very easy to adjust(takes a couple of minutes at most).Besides being accurate (as expected) it has a lot of detail in the dial, (e.g. chrome around the date window) and is easy to view in all lighting situations. But it does not have a light. The large face and numbers on the dial make viewing very easy. Highly recommended!

Perfect example of a European tremolo

This has to be one of the best examples of a wet tuned European style tremolo out there. And, it's been around in this configuration for a very long time.It's not a "blues harp" in the 10-hole diatonic style and it won't wail blues all that well. It's for tune playing and it's exceptional at that. 16 holes stacked (tremolo tuned) on each side (32 to a side) with two sides (in C and G) with 64 total holes - hence the model number 54/64 (model 54 / 64 holes)It's wooden combed and the reeds are bell metal. The tone is traditional. The scale is a modified Richter as opposed to the Scale-tuned of the Echo Celeste or the Asian tremolos. That makes it a little easier transition for 10-hole players and a bit of an annoyance for folks that want a full scale under hole 4. It's "nails in wood" construction too. This is important for those who don't care for wood combs or nails - or for those who prefer the tradition of wood combs with nails.The tuning of this series (models 54 through 57) is very wet. It's very near French musette tuning and much wetter than the Asian tremolos. If you want to play tunes then this one is a really good choice. The price looks a bit high until you consider that it's double sided so you get a C and a G tremolo harp in one pocket sized package.

Beauty that Lasts.

After nearly 40 years of intermittant playing (soft and melodically...I don't blast them out on an echo harp!)as embellishment on my guitar or autoharp (an especially nice combo!)pieces, I think the old girl is getting a little flat (barely!). You can tweak a 6-string to the harp, even a 12, but an Autoharp?? Forget it!.So I look up the Hohner Echo Harp on Google and almost dropped my teeth at the prices!!! The box is the same design as my somewhat dilapidated one, and I think I paid about $25.00 40 years ago. The $89.00 Amazon price is a good one (considering inflation and obvious product durability), as my first efforts found prices of about $125.00. Good old Amazon!!I'll probably keep the old Echo girl to play along live with my 47 year-old Gibson J-50 that I grew up with(talk about an aged Mahogany sound and honey-gold Spruce top!), but since I'm making CDs to save what aging has left of my music, a bit less approximate ("Close enough for Folk Music!") tuning may be useful.With the Echo, I play the straight chord (ex "G" with "G", etc) and trade off with vocal melody, guitar melody, and harp melody, unlike the blues harp approach.By the way, the Echo Harp is a bit more "Facial Hair Friendly" than other harps I've played! LOL

Don't listen to the last reviewer

This is a nice 20 hole tremello, key of C on one side, G on the oter. Has beautiful tones, very easy to hit descrete notes and harmonies. Have no idea what the last guy was rambling about, but I can strongly recomend this harmonica.

Love the thin design

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/ROA9BLIN1GTUI I bought my Skagen 233XLSGS in 2006. I have mixed feelings.I dislike heavy, bulky watches. I love the thin profile of this watch. It is so light you barely realize it is on your wrist. It is very thin and generally comfortable to wear except in hot weather. In hot weather the band holds moisture next to the skin which I find a little bothersome. The two-tone face is very attractive and it is easy to read the time. I feel the price of the watch offers real value. You can pay nearly as much for a plastic cased Timex or Casio watch... a few dollars more gives you a really nicely designed Skagen. It's a lot of "bang for the buck".Pros:Super thin and comfortable to wear.Elicits many compliments for its looks.Accurate time.Great price that offers excellent value.Cons:The mesh band is not so comfortable in hot weather and gets rather sweaty next to skin.The mesh band can easily be damaged if you accidentally hit something with your arm. In my case one of the fine wires broke and now snags on clothing.The "brushed stainless steel" casing can scuff.The clasp on the band can lose it's tension and come open. It is possible to gently press the sides together to "bend" it slightly which fixes the problem for quite a while. When it loosens again, repeat the gentle pressure on the sides. Minor nusiance but not a deal breaker.The calendar is quite small not easily readable for my aging eyes.The crystal on watch has developed a scratch or crack and will eventually have to be replaced I suppose. Not sure if I'll have it fixed or just buy a new watch... an advantage to the low cost of this watch.I do like the watch in spite of the mesh band and cracked crystal issues. In fact I just ordered another one just like this one since it would have cost nearly as much to replace the mesh band as to just buy a new watch. But if the new one doesn't hold up any better, it won't be replaced again.

Slick Looking Watch

I am a collector of different watches with different price points. I own cartier, rolex, invicta, patek about 60 others. Skagen is an inexpensive brand that is done with good taste. It looks like it cost way more than it does. I like all sorts of watches heavy, thin, dress and sport. This one is just a cool watch with an air or elegance and good taste.

Great Watch

Very satisfied with this watch. Although the date is rather small, my 72-year old eyes have no problem seeing it clearly. That is, with the aid of tri-focals!

What's That...? It's a Wireless Guitar!

It's been working pretty good since I got it. There's been sometimes when it paused and then came to its normal state. I guess it's because I've been playing in front of a Computer haha. Technically everything is fine. Of course it is NOT the best wriless system out there but sure it's awesome if you're just starting to play live. Well this is it. If you're just starting to play live, this thing will give you a smile for a low price (:
