3Nice waffles plus wake-the-dead alarm
By ChickenFriedLife
I tried out my new waffle maker this morning. Started out using the recommended setting, which just left a nasty doughy mess. Bumped up the setting 3 times until I got something that resembled a waffle. It is supposed to beep to let you know when it is done. Actually, it beeps every time it cycles "on", every time the green light comes on you get a series of really loud beeps like a smoke detector. It's not like I went outside and left the waffles cooking and needed a reminder! If you lift the lid the first time it beeps, it just makes a big nasty mess. By about the second series of beeps, the waffle should be about ready. The design is nice and unusual, an added plus is that it's attractive without being having a licensed character or trademark on it. (Such as Mickey Mouse, Hello Kitty, or "Bam" Emeril). The waffles turned out really nicely, once I figured out the setting I liked, but the beeps are amazingly annoying - not good for anyone in an apartment with thin walls or if you have people still asleep in the house!

4Waffler Makes more than Rose Waffles
By Thea Hardy
This waffler turned out to be a big surprize. I got it to make sweet rolls from my gluten-free, relatively low-carb recipes I used in other wafflers. The shape would be nice with cinnamon and nuts. It is. It works really well for this purpose. But I had no idea I would also be baking great egg omelets in it, filled with chopped fresh vegetables that cooked through perfectly. It also makes great cakes. Make some yeast "bread" in it - works like a charm, whether gluten free or the real McCoy. Try baking a lentil loaf. Beautiful with sauce. How about a meat-loaf? Works great. You can split the waffle for sandwiches or for layering cake. You can bake a little cookie dough in it only filling partway and have a lacy cookie. Bake it longer and it will get crisp. Make thick chocolate "cookies" and fill with ice cream. Wow.All of this is great as long as you can live with the way runny batter drips through the bottom and makes a big oozy mess, and the alarm beeps at you every time the heat goes off, whether it's ready or not. Hence only four stars.I can live with it - in fact I use it for more things every day. But I give it five stars for creative possibilities. I am still exploring and nowhere done. How about putting in beaten egg with a little corn masa, strewing chiles and cheese, topping it with more egg/masa - chiles rellenos? Haven't tried it yet, but I think I will go do that now.

3works well but no accessories available
By M. Hoffman
I was so excited to receive this food processor and begin using it. I was thrilled with how fast I could prepare vegetables, but I found the slicing disc to make extremely thin slices--only 2mm is not very thick! I decided to look into buying some additional discs which could cut thicker slices. However, I soon learned by going to kitchenaid's website, and by calling them directly, that there are NO additional discs or blades available for the 7-cup version besides those that come with it. So, if you think you might ever want to purchase some other blades or attachments (julienne cutter, thick slice disc, etc.) you'd better go with a bigger model. I ended up returning mine for a 9 cup version. But I can't help but feel grumpy about it, because Cuisinart offers additional discs for their 7-cup models. Why doesn't Kitchenaid? It was a fantastic food processor, but the options were just too limited! I asked the kitchenaid rep on the phone why that is, and she said they consider 7 cup models to not be full sized. It doesn't make sense to me, though--just because you're cooking for a small number of people, why would you automatically only want small slicing sizes? If you don't think you will ever want to purchase more accessories for your fp, by all means buy this model. But just be forewarned that you will only be able to slice stuff reeeeeally thin.

5Best of the best
By Elizabeth Hatfield
This workhorse is perfect for our family. The large 7 cup bowl is good for so many uses, while the 3 cup mini bowl helps save some clean up time. It does leak a little on the side if you are dealing with liquids, but solid items stay in the big bowl.Since the buttons are flush on the unit, it makes cleaning it a snap. A quick wipe and you are done.As with any white plastic part, it will stain depending on what it comes in contact with. I've pureed red chilies in there so my blade handle has taken on a bit of a red hue. A little bleach and quick cleaning usually removes the color. The blades that it comes with have been a life saver for shredding - I've shredding carrots for a carrot cake in no time flat without hurting my arms using the old box grater. I used to avoid making carrot cake for that reason, but now make it more often. My mother used my processor and loved it - she requested it for Christmas! It just makes cooking easier.

5So far. so good. I like it a lot.
By S. Vicente
Have had the Kitchen Aid KFP720OB 7-cup with 3-cup mini for ~2 mos., and I'm still learning, as it's my first food processor. The original small blade scored the sides of the mini bowl, but I called KA customer service, and both the blade and bowl were replaced immediately at no cost. KA even sent a postage label for returning the defective parts. I use both blades and both bowls almost daily but haven't used the slicing/shredding blade. The machine is quiet, powerful, doesn't move about on the counter, and everything is easy to clean (I have no dishwasher). The closest thing I have to a complaint is that the large bowl is a little difficult to remove. Perhaps I just haven't figured it out yet. All in all, I'm very happy with this processor. I think it does what it's supposed to do, and customer service was excellent.

5Excellent processor for the money
By cjenkins
Boy, am I glad I bought this processor. It is well designed and well made. You definitely get what you pay for.The base unit is big (10" x 8" x 6" high) and heavy. But it is amazingly quiet. It has large rubber feet which prevent the unit from moving or vibrating on the counter. The motor has enough torque to mix or rip through anything dropped in it.The work bowl is wider than the previous 9 cup model (7") which makes it very easy to work inside and remove the contents. Another nice touch is the bowl cover which fits over both the inside and outside rim of the work bowl to prevent spillage. The large food pusher is also a measuring cup. Many of the 12 cup accessories fit this processor, too.The mini bowl accessory is useful because it easily drops into the large work bowl and then quickly chops small amounts of ingredients. The processor comes with the mini bowl & blade, dough blade, 2 mm slicing disk, 4 mm shredding disk and spatula. The booklet has 18 pages of well illustrated instructions (all English) and another 22 pages of recipes.Final note: This item is securely packed in styrofoam. In addition, KitchenAid encloses the box inside a slightly larger shipping carton. This prevents the product and its box from being damaged during shipment from Amazon's warehouse - another nice touch.

2Had for a year now - replacing!
By NinaRina
Great quality product, but has a major design flaw also mentioned by previous reviewers. It is bothering me so much that I am going to get another make of processor. When the blade and bowl are assembled, the inside lip (under the blade cover) is not high enough. Therefore everything you process (even small amounts) is squeezed up and under the lip and under the blade threads by the centrifugal force. This needs intensive cleaning as I have discovered - I use mine for many things but mainly meat for meatballs - and cleaning out the raw meat to prevent future contamination is a nightmare. I have to use a toothpick. If you leave it it will rot and be a safety concern, as it will mix in whatever you process next. As I don't wish to spend such time cleaning due to a design flaw, or worse, causing food poisoning to friends and family - I am going to order a new processor. This should be top spec - love how it runs, but is a liability.

5Elegant, huge time saver and fun to use, only paid $110.oo
By Madrid
Had mine for a week. Already made salsa twice, tabulee, apple crisp. Saves tons of time. Looks great on the counter so it's convenient to use. The 2 MM slicing disk is very thin. eg think fingernail thin. But the apple crisp tasted good that way actually. Parsly for tabulee works great if you shove/pack it in the food chute and put in the slicing blade. It chops it actually in just the right sizes. When I used the chopping/all purpose blade this didn't work without making it more of a green goo. The slicing blade is great for parsley. I used the allpurpose/choping blade for the tomatoes and onions and works great. The 4 cup work bowl is very convenient and the 9 cup bowl stays clean. minibowl can't use the slicing/shredding discs. This machine is quiet, quality, top notch at whatever it does. Read directions carefully. It's not a blender, eg. if very thin batter, only fill 1/3 to 1/2, if liquid only fill to line which is probably only a cup or less, if thicker batter, can fill 2/3 full, if solid foods, can be filled. This is probably the case for all brands. I love it and will use it weekly if not more often. I plan to order the 4 or 6 MM slicer disc from Kitchenaid. Got mine for $110 including tax at Bed Bath and beyond. They matched Amazon's $129 price when I printed it out and brought it in and then I used my 20% off coupon.

4They should send one of these to me
By Jon Preston
They should send this base to me, and everyone else who bought the original version of it with the router! Just read my Amazon review of the Porter Cable 894PK router with plunge and fixed base from over a year ago. The original plunge base, which this replaces, was absolute JUNK. They copied the best features of the Dewalt base and released this as a replacement for the defective one they sold me two years ago.I saw this new base at the AWFS woodworking show in Las Vegas last month, and it was an excellent plunge base. It solved all the problems (like rocking from side to side, and sticking)that plagued the original plunge base for this router, and added the dust collection feature. The photo in this Amazon page is NOT the new base. It is a photo of the defective old model that this version replaces. The new 8931 base has a large dust collection port in one of the plunge tubes, very much like the Dewalt model. I would like to have it, but why should I have to buy the replacement for the the defective base they already sold me? At the very least, they should give all the existing customers who shelled out hard earned money for the defective older base a discount coupon towards the purchase of this replacement.

5Good original tool
By Greg Golden
It's really part of the router. Good multiple stops, and a nice locking lever that can be locked into the "open" position. The sub-base has a dust removal outlet, but I am having trouble finding a hose to fit. NOTE: Whenever you buy a router, try to get a SET with a Plunge base and Fixed base included. I waited on the plunge base-- thought I could do without. Then I bought this Plunge base separately and paid a lot. Unless you just need some partial router as a second unit, buy a SET all together!

5MUCH better than the original
By FlashJim
I ordered this wondering which version I'd end up with. I received the Type 3 (newest) and it's great! The original base had me lean over it just to plunge the thing. The new 8931 can be plunged with two fingers. I love it!

5Great option
By Arthur W. Holmes
Having built a new router table to replace an aging one, I had purchased a router lift that required the PC 7518. The problem was a new 7518 router, even on sale, was about $350. I checked with all local tool dealers and they actually wanted more for the motor alone, than they did for a whole new router. Only needing the motor I found this on Amazon for about $100 off the price of the whole router. It came in three days and ran just as advertised. Mounted in my new Woodpecker router lift it became one of those, "where have you been all my life" moments.

5Awsome router
By Paul
I purchased this router because I decided I wanted to make my own kitchen cabinets. I have 2 other Porter Cable routers which didn't have the HP to handle the larger bits needed for the raised panel doors. I also purchased a JessEm Masr R Lift to handle the heavy router. What a combination. The router exceeded my expectations. With the variable speed I was able to safely control the speed of the larger bits. The router had more than enough power to handle anything I could throw its way. It cut through the oak like it was butter.. The router arrived a few days later than I expected it but was extremely well packaged. This router is a real workhorse. It wasn't any louder than my other router and never over heated with constant use. I would highly recommend this router. I checked all over the internet and at other woodworking stores and couldn't find it any cheaper than Amazon. Well worth the investment.

4For Router Table (only?)
By Kenneth C. Adams
I've been reading router review articles and web sources for some time now. I bought this model, because the PC7518 is obviously the industry standard high-power router to stick in a router table. All the accessories, router lifts, etc. come standard for this model. For me, it's too big and heavy to use in hand, so there was no reason to get (and pay for) a fixed- or plunge-base -- I just wanted the motor, and that's what the 75182 model is. Mine is going into the router table and staying there, so it's the best choice for me.

5Same great card for less $$$
By G. Camano-Garcia
If you have searched Amazon for an Audigy 2 ZS notebook sound card you may have noticed that the Amazon search engine returns three different results for this product. Two of them (item model # 70sb053000012 and SB0530) priced over $20 than this model. If you are wondering what the difference is between those two and this one, you may be surprised to know that there is none other than the packaging. The two high priced versions come one in a colorful box and the other in a clamshell. This one comes in a plain cardboard box. The contents of the box are exactly the same and so are the technical specifications for the card.Package contents:- PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook audio card,- Speaker docking cable,- Clear carrying case,- Creative earphones,- Quick start leaflet,- Creative DVD-Audio sampler disc,- Sounds best on SOUND BLASTER CD installation,- Applications CD containing: drivers for Windows XP & Windows 2000, Creative software suite, and user's guide. The one that I bought did not have the latest version of the drivers. However, you can easily download them from the Creative web site together with several upgrades for the applications that come with the card. So, if you want to save yourself at least $20 to use them towards buying yourself, say, a good speakers system, and you do not care about fancy packaging you may seriously consider buying this one.I did not experience any problems with my card, like pops/click sounds as those problems are more related to the laptop where you will install the card (e.g. insufficient PCMCIA bandwidth that depends on your system's cardbus controller) than to the card itself. Also, the volume buttons of my laptop (Compaq) do control the card volume.

1ENE Controller Problems
By R. MIDDLETON
It turns out anyone that has a notebook that uses the ENE cardbuss controller will have some issues with this card - and that's a lot of people! Before you buy it - check your device manager to see what's on your PC. The problems vary somewhat but crackling and popping to some degree is pretty common. You may be able get rid of it by trying various workarounds including operating it in "standard mode" but you'll lose some features and audio performance. A lot of smart people have spent a lot of time trying to get this card to work on their PCs with the ENE controllers and there's still no definite/universal fix. At this time there's 19 pages on the subject at the Creative forum. Creative for their part isn't supporting the problem by coming up with a fix, they've had lots of time now. Bottom line - if you have the ENE controller and still decide to purchase be prepared to return it and waste some valuable time like me.

5Best Creative Product Ever!
By The Information
The state of affairs regarding laptop audio quality is awful. Laptop manufacturers cut corners in every way they can to reduce cost. They assume customers will be satisfied with average or below-average audio performance. Buying a laptop that has high quality audio "out-of-the-box" is near impossible. Even if you have a high-end laptop, the audio output is usually plagued by system noise, poor volume levels, and poor frequency response.By installing a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Notebook Sound Card you will be entering the playing field of decent laptop audio. I was immediately impressed with the audio quality after the simple installation process. Creative has finally streamlined the software portion of the installation so system clutter is minimal. I chose a "custom" installation so I could avoid certain software components.Plugging in headphones proved to be a delightful experience. This card produces a depth and volume output level that is rich and satisfying. In terms of audio output it outperforms any portable MP3 player I have ever used. It blows away Creative's very own Zen Nano Plus, and also outperforms Apple's iPod by leaps and bounds. This little card has major "ooomph!". The low low bass frequencies are strong and punchy. Your average laptop or portable MP3 player would require a separate headphone amp to have the audio depth and power this product has all by itself. Wiring this card into my main stereo was just as impressive.I think laptops should already have this level of audio quality, but until they do I consider this product a "must".
