3Warning - buy a big enough panel!
By Mark
This charger will only provide enough power to open and close your gate four times if you live in the northern U.S.!I placed an order for this charger at the same time that I ordered the Mighty Mule gate opener (FM350). What no one told me, and I did not find out until I read the installation manual for the gate opener, is that the 5 watt charger will only provide enough juice for a MAXIMUM of 4 gate cycles per day in the northern U.S. (Most or all of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Dakota, South Dakota, MN, WI, Iowa, IL, Michigan, and almost everything north of the Mason-Dixon Line. In those areas a 10 watt panel will give 8 cycles, 15 watts = 11 cycles, 20 watts = 14 cycles, 30 watts = 20 cycles. Now I need to send this panel back and get at least a 15 watt system. :(

I live in central Florida and have a 12' gate. This solar panel keeps my 12 volt battery charged perfectly. We open the gate probably 7 times a day (counting open & close as one) and have never had a power problem.

5Considering a ButtKicker? Read this first!
By Ken Rob
The ButtKicker is capable of adding a new dimension to your home theater but it has to be installed correctly to realize it's maximum potential. As I found out through my own experience, there are two important factors to a successful installation. First of all the the ButtKicker has to be mounted securely to the seats you are going to use it with. For my installation on a dual recliner, I used 12 gauge perforated angle steel that is available in the home stores. After cutting the pieces to size, I bolted them to the angle steel frame that connects both recliners together and then bolted the ButtKicker to that. At this point I thought the installation was complete, so I wired it up to the ButtKicker BKA-1000-4A power amp and picked out a DVD with some LFE`s on it. Well right away I experienced the tactile sensations that I was promised but as soon as the LFE effects level increased, the ButtKicker would start to bottom out hard and this was very distracting. I decided to call customer support and I would like to aknowledge the incredible customer support that is available from The Guitammer Co and is only a phone call away. I talked to Mark, a very knowledgeable enthusiast and he explained to me that my installation was not complete and why it wasn't. The ButtKicker can create an incredible amout of shake and transfer it to whatever it's bolted to. But here's the second factor- whatever it's bolted to has to be able to move. All of you have seen subwoofers in action, the large cone has suspension around it so it can move freely. The same logic has to be applied to your ButtKicker installion. If you check out the Buttkicker website, you will see that they sell rubber isolation feet. Installing the appropriate size and number of these feet will complete your installation. After I installed a suspension system under my recliner, I was amazed at difference. My recliner is sitting on a concrete floor and the reason my ButtKicker was bottoming out is because it was trying to move something it wasn't designed to. Now, with the suspension system in place I can turn down BK amp and enjoy abundant shake with no bottoming out. The ButtKicker LFE is truly an impressive addition to my home theater and my only regret is that I didn't add it sooner. The ability of it to respond to frequencies below 10hz is outstanding and I am actually able to turn my subwoofers off and still have a very involved audio\tactile experience. Still, my favorite moments occur when watching the face of guests the first time they are watching a movie and an explosion or other LFE rich segment occurs, sometimes they will jump out of the seat not sure what just happened!

4Buttkicker vs Clark Synthesis Tactile Transducer
By mbw
I am not sure you can make a comparison between the two products. What must seem like two different products that in essence do the same thing to some, turns out to be two products that approach the idea of tactile transducing from two different design goals. The Clark is if anything, more refined, providing fast response throughout the frequency range it was designed to reproduce. The Buttkicker could best be described as brutal, slaming home its intended effect. My recommendation is to buy both to mix and match under a platform or below a floor to get the best of both worlds.**EDIT**A year or more later and I have almost retired the BK-LFE. I could never get it to stop bottoming out on extreme lfe movie segments. And when it bottoms out you know it! ...Very distracting and what I considered untenable. Turning the amp down only dimished the effect to the point where it became a negligible tactile sensation at best. On the other hand, I have nothing but praise for the Buttkicker amp! I started experimenting with it using one and now have it powering two Clark Synthesis Platinums, (CSPs) in parallel and WOW...this works in spades. Yes, a CSP is twise the money but is a no compromise piece of work. Is it worth twice the money? Well, when one sort of works some of the time and not well the rest of the time and the other offers endless effect that you can dial in to suit, it all comes down to budget. Buy the Buttkicker LFE but be prepared to adjust your expectations, not the equipment.

4Works great
By Balu K. Kadiyala
I bought this online and had it installed professionally with a local home theater shop. The professional installer liked the mount so much they took down the item numbers. The only down side is, as with any universal mounts, it is easy to lose alignment...

5Heavy duty, well made speaker stand
By Five 28
I purchased this speaker stand for a Definitive technology CLR2002 speaker that I am using as a center channel. This speaker is pretty heavy and rather large. I needed something that was not flimsy and had some heft to it and this stand fits the bill. It is very heavy and well made, with spikes available for the base. The platform is angled up a bit so it aims the speaker output towards the listeners ears. If I had to do it again I would buy this one all over again.

5The Best Stand Ever!
By Marc Jordan
This stand is the perfect solution for a center channel or large R/Left front or back monitors that you just want raised a little over 10" inches off the floor. The other reviewer stated that holes for pouring sand into the pillars on this stand are too small. This is true, but not an issue. Why? Because this stand is extremely heavy and well built. A car subwoofer could play on top of this stand perfectly isolated from any vibration or resonance. If the 10 pound base plate were not enough, this stand comes with cast iron spikes and thick plastic discs that fit under the spikes to protect your A/V stand from scratches. Here's a tip, Put a drop of Super Glue into the spike hole on the plastic disc before resting the spikes into the disc. This will insure that the spikes will not come off of the disks, this is unlikely given the shear mass of this stand, but it makes it one solid unit! This stand is very attractive and looks far more expensive than what it cost here... I have seen stands that look very Sim. to this on other sites that cost 4Xs as much. The entire stand is made of an extremely thick and heavy steel. My plasma monitor is wall mounted and this stand sits below it on my A.V. Stand. I previously had the center( BIC America Center)channel speaker resting way below the plasma monitor on the A.V. stand. I was shocked to hear how this stand improved the vertical soundstage of my center channel by bringing it ear level. I purchased this stand for the look of it but got exellent sound improvements to boot. One last thing. If your receiver has a speaker set-up system like Odesy or Pioneer MEEC or some other Mic/set up software, you may want to run it again when changing the localization of your Center Channel for accuracy. I cann't Recmnd. this stand highly enough! You will see what I mean when you pick up the box it comes in. This is the real deal.

Product seems well built, most stuff is crap, wish the back edge had a lip on it and it doesn't but I guess the supplied stickies will hold it, but overall good product and great price!

4Looks good and very functional
By D. Grecco
My only criticism of any knock-down furniture units is that they come from overseas and suffer from suspect final inspection before going into a box. This CD cabinet is built nicely, looks good, is functional, but needed two repairs to the front doors. In both cases the dowels were installed off-center and they cracked the flat lattice cross-members on one side of the door (it was done in the factory and didn't happen in shipment). Luckily, it was repairable. I removed the dowels, re-glued the lattice and clamped. I left the dowels out as the glass inserts act like a stop so all the dowels aren't really necessary.Anyway, I installed it on the wall in my aunt's kitchen where the depth was an issue behind the back door and it needed to be lifted slighly off the floor to clear some pipes. It looks very good and it's made nicely. It's all about the results anyway so overall, it's a good buy.If you have a problem, I doubt you can just get a piece or two shipped to you from the Far East like you could if you purchased it locally. Save the box until you put it all together and inspected. Get the vacuum cleaner out to suck up all the white static styrofoam pellets that break away from the main packing materials and stick to everything but the inside of the garbage bag you're holding!

4Best cabinet for its size with doors
By NeverEnoughToys
I searched for months trying to find something that would fit within the space I had available. I would have preferred this to be available as a double width like the taller units, but since it wasn't, I purchased two of these shorter units. The manufacturing tolerances appear to be tight enough that it worked out fine (both at the exact same height with no left or right lean and front to back just the same). The color appearance, like all things wood, vary in color a bit, but to get something perfect, you'd be spending 10 times more. My wife doesn't notice it and probably neither will 99% of the rest of the world. When they arrived, I was quite concerned since the boxes were badly damaged and some of the end piece protective packing supports were missing (since the box came open in transit). However, the person who engineered the packaging deserves an award. Everything was designed to protect everything else. Even with badly damaged boxes, there was only a small chip out of the corner of one of the backs and a small chip out of the center side of the other. Everything else came through unscathed.Installation was relatively simple. I always use glue where dowels are concerned and did the same here. DON'T FORGET to wipe any excess glue at each attachment step. Here's how I did it (note I didn't have anyone to help, though it's probably recommended).1) I laid out all the pieces and put in all of the screw posts.2) Then I started with the left side on the floor with the top to my left. I filled the dowel holes on it 1/2 full with glue (see picture for which are dowel holes) and pushed the dowels in (by hand, no hammers!).3) Next, I laid out the back brace, bottom shelf and bottom front brace so I knew what side was what (the back brace doesn't appear to matter). Bottom shelf and bottom front brace should have the screw cam toward the inside (hidden).4) I then filled the dowel holes on the back brace 1/2 full and pushed it down in place and screwed the screw cam closed. I did the same for the bottom shelf and bottom front brace.5) Next, I filled the dowel holes on the right side 1/2 full and then turned it over and put it in place on the braces/bottom shelf and tightened the screw cams.6) I then stood it up and slid the back in place within the groove designed for it. (Don't get ahead of yourself since it's going so well and forget this step. It's a bummer when you have to take the top off and come back to this step.)7) I filled the dowel holes in the top 1/2 full, then put it in place and tightened the screw cams.8) Next, I screwed all the glass support pieces in place for both doors (mine were plastic). Don't tighten yet.9) Then I screwed the hinge to both doors.10) Next, I put the handle on both doors (remember that the handle goes on the top and set the handle so it hangs down). There are only a few threads that go in, so don't over-tighten.11) I laid the cabinet back on its left side, top to my left on two strips of the 1 inch Styrofoam packing. This helped keep it level.12) Then I took the left door (handle at the top, remember) and laid it on two pieces of the 2 inch Styrofoam packing. This gave a good level plane to attach the hinges to the cabinet.13) Note on the hinges (at least mine) that two of the holes are round and two are oblong. Put all 8 screws in place, but don't screw them all the way down. This way, you can ensure the hinges are lined up correctly before tightening. Making sure NOT TO OVER-TIGHTEN, once all 8 are in, tighten the round hole screws first (both top and bottom hinges). Then tighten the others. Doing it this way, I had to make no adjustments later.14) Now lay the glass in place, turn the glass supports so they hold it down and tighten. Do NOT over-tighten.15) Turn the cabinet on its right side and repeat steps 11 - 14.Congratulations, it looks great!Bottom line, I'd definitely purchase this or its cousins again.
