I purchased this speaker stand for a Definitive technology CLR2002 speaker that I am using as a center channel. This speaker is pretty heavy and rather large. I needed something that was not flimsy and had some heft to it and this stand fits the bill. It is very heavy and well made, with spikes available for the base. The platform is angled up a bit so it aims the speaker output towards the listeners ears. If I had to do it again I would buy this one all over again.

This stand is the perfect solution for a center channel or large R/Left front or back monitors that you just want raised a little over 10" inches off the floor. The other reviewer stated that holes for pouring sand into the pillars on this stand are too small. This is true, but not an issue. Why? Because this stand is extremely heavy and well built. A car subwoofer could play on top of this stand perfectly isolated from any vibration or resonance. If the 10 pound base plate were not enough, this stand comes with cast iron spikes and thick plastic discs that fit under the spikes to protect your A/V stand from scratches. Here's a tip, Put a drop of Super Glue into the spike hole on the plastic disc before resting the spikes into the disc. This will insure that the spikes will not come off of the disks, this is unlikely given the shear mass of this stand, but it makes it one solid unit! This stand is very attractive and looks far more expensive than what it cost here... I have seen stands that look very Sim. to this on other sites that cost 4Xs as much. The entire stand is made of an extremely thick and heavy steel. My plasma monitor is wall mounted and this stand sits below it on my A.V. Stand. I previously had the center( BIC America Center)channel speaker resting way below the plasma monitor on the A.V. stand. I was shocked to hear how this stand improved the vertical soundstage of my center channel by bringing it ear level. I purchased this stand for the look of it but got exellent sound improvements to boot. One last thing. If your receiver has a speaker set-up system like Odesy or Pioneer MEEC or some other Mic/set up software, you may want to run it again when changing the localization of your Center Channel for accuracy. I cann't Recmnd. this stand highly enough! You will see what I mean when you pick up the box it comes in. This is the real deal.

Product seems well built, most stuff is crap, wish the back edge had a lip on it and it doesn't but I guess the supplied stickies will hold it, but overall good product and great price!
