5EXCELLENT!!!
By StrangeWuTang
I carry this with me everywhere. I do a lot of writing in my journal and I prefer to use a dip pen more than anything else, so this is the perfect little kit. I also do quite a bit of letter writing. Inside the box, there is enough room for two small rulers, a compass, a bone folder for letters, an eraser, a couple of wax seals, alcohol travel burner for wax, about 4 or 5 sticks of wax and a small stamp pad for same, extra pencil lead, a small coffin for extra pen nibs, a sandpaper pencil pointer, and a small bottle of acrylic ink pen-nib cleaner, like those little Speedball ink bottles except it's a pen cleaner. I was amazed that even though the box and the little space is small, I could cram so much into it. The only problems I had with the whole thing is that there is a plaque on the top of the box with the company's name on it...I took it off and it now has my own plaque on it. And, the case for it is very nicely made, but it ALSO has the company's name on it. I just put the cloth carry-case upside down with the name on the bottom and I never see it. I had never written with a glass pen before this set. For broad strokes and using quite a bit of ink, that's the glass pen right out of the box. So I used some very-very fine grit sandpaper to make a sharp point on it and now it works great!Overall, WELL WORTH THE PRICE!

5Just what I always needed
By Daniel J. Stark
For years I've had no choice but to rest my extension ladder against the gutters in order to clean them out. This certainly hasn't been very kind to the gutters themselves; but more importantly, I've always feared that the ladder could slip and I would fall to the ground with it. And that hasn't been a very comforting thought.Last November I hired someone to clean the leaves from the gutters that had accumulated in them when they fell from the trees. I watched him and saw that he had some sort of ladder stabilizer that provided him with real stability. Until then I didn't know such things existed. This spring -- after a horrible windstorm that blew all the maple trees' 'polly noses' into the gutters and clogged them horrendously (particularly after they started to sprout), I went to my local Home Depot where I bought a Werner stabilizer. I attached it to my ladder and gave it a test run. I immediately found out that it was useless for my purposes because the arms were not deep enough to touch the roof, and the ladder still rested on the gutter. I took it back to Home Depot.I then began my on-line research. I finally boiled it down to two options: (1) the Louisville Ladder Adjustable Ladder Stabilizer; and, (2) the Ladder-Max Stand-off Stabilizer. I liked the adjustability concept of the Louisville Ladder stabilizer, and I also liked the idea of free shipping, but I could not find anything on line that would show me how it attached to the ladder, and/or how it came off the ladder. To me that was of critical importance because I would only be attaching the stabilizer when I needed to use the ladder, and would then remove the stabilizer when I had finished. I was afraid that if there wasn't something that showed how easily it went on and off the ladder that it probably wasn't too easy. I contacted Louisville Ladder and they finally sent me the instructions. As I suspected, mounting and unmounting their stabilizer necessitated the use of tools for each procedure. The Ladder-Max web site, however shows exactly how their stabilizer attached to and came off the ladder. It looked easy and it is!I bought the Ladder-Max stabilizer. It's a bit tricky to assemble, but once assembled it attaches to the ladder in seconds. And it comes off just as easily. No tools required!I used it for the first time the other day and it's a pleasure. The arms are long enough to rest on the roof and the bumpers on the end of the arms seem well designed and did no damage to my asphalt shingles. For the first time ever (and I've been a home owner for 42 years) I felt secure while cleaning my gutters. There's no question that with any stabilizer attached to one's ladder makes moving the ladder a bit more problematic, but the rock-solid feel while up on the ladder with the Ladder-Max Stand-off Stabilizer outweighs any such concern for me. And my wife is happy that I'm not likely to fall.

5Would not do without it
By Kent Keith
I am a professional home inspector and would not dream of using my ladder to access roofs without this stabilizer. Before finding this, I used to have my ladder against the roof edge, which can damage the eve shingles or against the gutters with can make the ladder slide to the side. One day after I had my ladder slide and fall, leaving me stranded on a roof top, I knew I had to find a solution. I use this every day and it definitely adds to my confidence. It is well made but one thing the factory should do is that the edges of the steps were very sharp and could cut your hands. The factory should buff the edges before shipping. I took some emery cloth and smoothed them myself. I also wish they would come up with a model that could fold up flat for easier transportation and save space in my truck. I think this is a great product and for the money it is worth not getting injured or worse.

4Very solid
By P. Holmes
I was terrified working up any ladder over 3 feet in height. Adding this stbilizer really gives the ladder a solid feel and now I feel confident climbing to the top of my 28 foot ladder. I havn't used the stabilizer on a roof yet, just against brick and aluminum siding. Once in position, it does not move at all. It takes seconds to install or take off. The only negative is the relatively narrow span of the product. It just about spans across my smallest windows. I will have to find a different product for my larger windows. The weight can also make it more difficult to maneuver the ladder since it becomes top heavy. Definately a 2 man job. No regrets however, It's allowed me to do things I did not think I was capable of.

3Tivoli Satellite Radio feedback
By Sam Love
I love Sirius in my car for its niche channels like jazz, Folk Town and Bluegrass so I bought the Tivoli table model. On the positive side the sound is GREAT -- right up there with Bose, but the design leaves some things to be desired. 1. It won't work without external antennas for AM, FM or Sirius. 2. It does not have an internal power supply. 3. To get stereo or CD you have to buy additional boxes. 4. You really do have to have a clear view of the sky where the satelite is located. Trees and buildings block the signal. 5. You might as well order the third party signal booster and antenna extension because it only comes with a 30 foot cable to the antenna which will probably not get it to your roof. 6. There is not an easy way to feed additional stereo equipment to take advantage of a home sound system. 7. There is no way to cut off the big blue info screen which is really BIG and Blue. When installed this thing has as many wires and connections as a lobbyist in Washington. But if you can put up with the clunky design it is wonderful.

4Best of the Satellite-Compatible Radios
By Paul Boswell
I have no doubt that one reason for the slow adoption of Satellite Radio by consumers is the lousy hardware. I mean, what are they thinking? The collection of products for both Sirius and XM looks like the over-designed, comic book props in Star Wars movies. They're totally dysfunctional. Nothing as elegant as an iPod, with the possible exception of Pioneer's portable radios for XM. Even the car radio's are clunky. The Tivoli Model Satellite is the one exception to the ugly, under-performing Satellite Radio rule. The sound is about as good as it gets. Indeed, almost too good since it really points up the excessive compression used by both satellite and commercial FM broadcasters. You won't notice this difference until you play an uncompressed CD or MP3 file from your iPod through the AUX port on the Tivoli. Wow! What an amazing sound out of such small speakers. And I don't even have the subwoofer speaker accessory. The Sirius section works great. It's easy to program. It's got a great "Memo" feature to capture the name and artist of 20 songs you'd like to look up later.I did invest in a serious outdoor Sirius Antenna prior to the arrival of the Tivoli, so it was just a matter of plugging it in. The FM and AM sections worked fine without any external antennas. It's impressive that they include a serious external AM antenna - something I haven't seen packaged with table radios since the 1970s, and then only expensive "audiophile" models. As noted by others, the Satellite and AM/FM functions aren't at all integrated. This is basically the Tivoli Model 1 with a Satellite function tacked on as an afterthought. The huge, bright, multi-line display is awesome at providing all of the information you want at a glance, with a minimal amount of annoying left-to-right scrolling. While the display does automatically adjust to ambient light (a feature that can be turned off and on) it may be too bright for the bedside table for some people. The Tivoli Model Satellite is to radio what a beautiful 52" flat panel plasma display is to HDTV. It's the best audio you can get for satellite, possibly short of a console deck connected to studio monitors. But, again, given the various compression artifacts on Satellite radio (and the compression is often horrible on talk-only channels) this may be about as good as you dare get.Unless you have space limitations, it's kind of a waste to spend so much money on a radio only to have mono sound, so plan on buying the (right channel) speaker for stereo.I have no problem that they didn't include a CD player. An integrated mechanical device would only shorten the useful life of the unit. As just a radio it should last 10-20 years if you're trying to justify the high price tag. Will Sirius be around in 10-20 years? I don't know. We also hear talk of HD radio coming to AM/FM (but then we've heard about HDTV for 20 years too and it's still not here). At this price point, it would have been nice if there's been a time-shift feature, sort of a digital VCR (DVR) feature to record shows you want to hear later. The remote is pretty awful for such an expensive radio, it's just a cheap "membrane" type remote. Inexplicably I got a real remote with my Kenwood Sirius car radio (what good a remote does in the car is beyond me).Let's hope with the merger of the two satellite services they make more of an effort to create better looking, more functional hardware AND clean up their sound quality. I'd rather they have half as many channels with better sound and produce better programs that are re-run several times a day.

5A great Sirius satellite radio
By MikeJM
I was initially quite skeptical about satellite radio. Then, I saw the Tivoli in an advertisement and decided to take a chance. I was very pleasantly surprised with the radio and the Sirius satellite service. I've brought the radio to my office and can enjoy commercial free music throughout the work day. The sound from this small, mono radio is remarkably clear and powerful. This includes both high and low range sounds. The remote control is compact and easy to use; actually, I prefer the remote, since the buttons on the radio are small. You can store 20 of your favorite satellite stations for easy access. Even FM stations sound great, but I rarely listen since the satellite stations are much better. The Sirius lineup is excellent, and it truly is commercial free music. (News and Talk stations have brief commercial breaks.) Overall, I definitely recommend the Tivoli satellite radio (and Sirius satellite radio).

5many reasons to love this shirt.
By marci davis
Another quality product from Marmot. I ordered this shirt to wear on morning runs when it was still a bit chilly. I didn't think it would be as attractive, though-- but it is. It can be worn with a tank beneath and in public, it's that good-looking. It has darts in the back for shaping, and the fabric is very cool and softened up nicely with washing. When I wear it to run, I don't always layer it, and you can wear it with just a (sports) bra beneath, and it's not so thin that people can see your navel. The sleeves are another nice feature- they're long on me, I am a bit petite, and they can be cuffed while running and they will stay that way, as the textured fabric will hold together when cuffed that way. I ordered the "lipstick" color, but it's not a very bright pink, it is more on the magenta/purple tone side. I love it.For running, it's cool and another nice spring layer, and it does offer sun-proof coverage, despite the open weave. All in all, it's a wonderful shirt, I will order another one in another color.

5Birds loved it
By Phacelia
I had to respond after I read the single review. I bought 3 bags and the birds ate it all in one month. I had 60 birds at my 4 feeders. I recommend getting the mesh bags for feeders; otherwise, the birds get frustrated with trying to get the seed out of the small holes in plastic feeders. And then they do leave the seed to rot. I've tried Kaytee as well and both products are equally relished.

4Valley Splendor Seed
By Magdalene Bryngelson
I bought this seed because it is too expensive at our local stores in this large size. The birds are happy with it, although they don't seem to clean out the feeder like they do with other brands of nyjer seed...there does seem to be a lot of small stems and trash in the bottom of the feeder and I have to empty the feeder out more often.

5The best gift I ever gave my husband!
By RCK
I heard these chimes in a garden shop one day, and was convinced one of the local churches was now sounding bells in the middle of the afternoon. When I asked the clerk about the church bells I was hearing, she pointed to these chimes, hanging in an open archway in the garden center. I was astonished at their sound and later purchased them for a birthday present for my husband to use on his beloved deck (his favorite room three seasons of the year). Our chimes have hung, undisturbed, for probably more than 10 years, on the enclosed deck off our home. They are exposed to snow and rain and look as they did the day we hung them. I dust the hammer once in a while, but that's all they ever need. They are positioned to catch as much wind as is available and so, provide a peaceful, beautiful musical background. Given their size, you would expect them to be loud and disturbing, but they aren't. You can sleep on the deck but they won't wake you. Our neighbors don't seem to hear them, or else aren't bothered if they do. I cannot possibly communicate how beautiful they sound. They are enormous so be certain that wherever you hang them you have the height and strength to support them, but should you choose to make this investment (and given the cost, that's what they are) you will never regret your purchase. How many things around your house can you identify that are well-made, of excellent quality, designed to last, and offer as much pleasure throughout the years of their functional life as they did the day you first enjoyed them? I love these chimes as much as the day I bought them and they will probably be making music long after I am gone.

5Deep, rich tone!
By foxglove
I love these chimes! I bought the 86", (I don't know what I was thinking in terms of length; however, they have such an authentic tone - check out the audio sample!) They are hanging from the eaves near my bedroom window, away from my next door neighbors. It is soothing and the tone low enough that I can enjoy them but it won't disturb anyone. They are heavy, 15 lbs, so it takes more than a gentle breeze to make them chime. I highly recommend if you're searching for a genuine cathedral bell sound.

5Beautiful sound of church bells
By Matthew
This was a mother's day present and they do sound like church bells. My wife and I saw these while vacationing and she loved them. They do actually sound like church bells. Just keep in mind that these are very tall and you need a height 9 to 10 feet for these to catch the wind without touching the ground. We already knew this but if we didn't then it would have been a problem. Ours hangs in a tree branch a little over 11 feet high with close to 2 feet from the tree branch and about 1 foot off the ground.
