5Own it for life
By B. R. Hassard
I have owned this knife for several years now and love it. I have 4 boys and it comes in very handy for those scout trips! It's nice to have everything right there on your belt. I have used the bandages, flashlight, compass, safety pins, and the sewing kit many times. When we take the wife and daughters camping/ backpacking it always comes with me. I even keep it in with my personal items at work. I can't tell you how many pairs of glasses i have fixed for the kids at my school with the smallest screwdriver! I find it much better quality than those little eyeglass kits you get in the drug store. I have opened up computer cases for repairs, I have made new holes for my kids in their belts, the jobs that it has come in handy for goes on. I really like having the needle, magnifying glass and tweezers for getting out slivers too. I even replaced the band aids with some that had been treated with silver so that I didn't have to carry antibiotic around with me. In short I love this set!Draw backs- These are a little ticky but...1- flashlight could be better if it was a brighter led (mine is a normal bulb light.)2- sometimes I need a little larger pliers to get a good grip.3- Weight. It's not bad, I know I don't mind it, but I'm sure it could be more than some want to carry.high points1- I have always loved little things that could get the job done well and yet be packed away neatly. I enjoy being able to have what my family needs right there all the time. (Though I did sneak in a pair of fingernail clippers too.)2- the quality is unsurpassed, in my mind Victorinox makes one of the best knives out there. (I own 5, and it's what I give my kids when they start scouts.)3- It's so nice not to go hunting for tools or have to carry around a big kit. (I have managed to repair gates, prune trees, and repair kids jewelry with it while I was out.)Now that it's under $100, It's starting to get to be a much better bargain too!

5Best ever jacknife
By Sarge
This is, in my opinion, the best knife that Victorinox makes. Everything that you need for a backwoods camping trip fits int a cell phone-size case. The little screwdriver that fits into the corkscrew can be used for anything from eyeglass screws to computer circuit boards (I've used it for both). The sandpaper striker on the matchbox works really well, usually lighting the first time. I am 15 and work as a maintenance man for a small art store, which often involves taking printers and whatnot apart. With this knife I very rarely have to get any tools to fix it. I also checked airline regulations, and the kit can be carried in luggage (not carry on, obviously). If you are a handyman, camper, or just a knife enthusiast, I would recommend this knife hands down. You will not be disappointed at all.

5Best Multi-Tool You Can Buy
By William J. Bennett
In my opinion, the SwissTool series are the best multi-tolls on the market. Stainless steel blades do not rust with only minimal care. The handles on the pliers are comfortable in your hand and the layout of the tools is excellent. There is also a good mix of tools that should cover most situations where using a multi-tool (instead of a "real tool")is appropriate. One reviewer complained that the springs were cheap. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The springs are extremely durable and will give you years of service. I am in the U.S.Army and my SwissTool has taken more use and abuse than it should have and I have had NO PROBLEMS with it....ever. There is a burn mark on the head of he pliers where It got a little too close to an electrical connection on my Hummer, but that is my fault....It is a fairly heavy tool, but that is because it is extremely well built. I have purchased and been issued other multi-tools frm Gerber, Leatherman and SOG and nothing compares to the quality and craftmanship of Swiss Army. I even have a Swiss Champ that I carry when I need something lighter than the SwissTool. Their quality can not be beat.Reading reviews on multi-tools you will see many differing opinions on what is best. Everybody needs something different and NO MULTI-TOOL will serve every person's needs perfectly. For examlpe, I do not like Gerber tools, because the bottle opener is not long enough to easily open a Sam Adams. The SOG that I had rusted easily even though it had a black "rust proof" coating and you had to open a cover on the outside of the handles to get to the tools. Original Leatherman tools pinched my hands when I used the pliers. Although I do carry a leatherman juice when I need just a small pocket knife, leatherman just does not "do it" for me.Also remember that the purpose of a multi tool is to have a tool to use when you do not have a tool box with you. Do you really need Torx bits? If you are a handyman or electrician you will. Do you need the hex bits (like I do for all the gagdets on our weapons)? Is a wood saw really needed? If you do need a wood saw, the one on this tool will easily slice through a 2x4...i've done it, but a full sized hand saw would have been much better. I typically use the wood saw for trimming branches around my tree stand when hunting or bushes around the yard. It works perfectly for that. I used the file/metal saw on mine to cut through a padlock....not an easy job, but the tool worked. The chisel looking blade has opened more wooden crates of ammunition than I can count and the awl (although never used on leather as it was designed) is a great front sight adjustment tool for my M-4. I personally do not need a corkscrew on a tool. I have a great one at my house already and have yet to be in dire need of opening a bottle of wine away from home. Although I consider a multi-tool a day-to-day necessity I would not think of rebuilding an engine with it. Use the right tool for the job at hand. You can not substitute a full sized tool for a multi-tool in every situation.I currently have a SwissTool X, but just ordered the CS Plus because of the metal file and bit driver. My old swiss tool is still servicable, but will end up in the "junk" drawer in the kitchen or the glove box in the Cherokee. As stated above I need hex drivers and I plan on replacing the bits that come in the kit with different sized hex drivers that I have already. The bottom line here is the SwissTool is an extremely high-quality, durable tool. It has a great mix of impliments that should cover most users needs. Maintenance is minimal and with a life time guarantee there should be no concerns about breakage.

5best pocket tool ever
By N. Wilkerson
The previous reviewer said that they were disappointed with the springs used in this tool but with a lifetime warranty this is hardly an issue. I have also used my metal file much i have even filed through padlocks and there is no ware on it. If you want needle nose pliars get a regular victorinox with tweezers.

5excellent tool
By David Almquist
My wife got me one of these years ago and this is indispensable for anyone who does any sort of maintenance or other outdoor work. I found it equally useful as a site manager and as a field entomologist and almost always have it on my belt "just in case" even when at home or in the office. It is sturdy and well made and I would have to really try to bend/warp it as I've done lesser multi-tools. The separate tool for driver bits makes the sheath rather large, but this tool, with my selection of bits, has been worth it enough to more than make up for the extra bulk.

5The pride of my collection
By Ganesh V
The Swiss army knife is an excellent product! The big one has tons of tools, and I have put it to use on several hikes, bikes and treks now. Even after 5+ years, it works excellent, all parts are shiny and ready for action! Even the wine corkscrew is excellent and works quite well. I liked the option to engrave on the knife and the pouch that came with it (it has a nice belt loop and is a big help during adventure treks!).Overall, the swiss army knife is a must have for anyone!

3Pretty cool, but wide and heavy.
By Kevin Nicholls
I work in IT and co-workers tend to make tools disappear, so this seemed like something handy to have. The quality of the included tools is great, and once you get used to carrying it around, you almost feel lost without it. It really does seem to have just about everything a geek would need. Oddly enough, the DIP switch tool is actually a ballpoint pen. Personally, I think that's more useful, but keep that in mind if you care about keeping your DIP switches pristine. That all said, it's much thicker than it appears in the picture -- maybe about an inch or so. It's also heavier than an iPod, which takes some getting used to. The Ruby finish looks great when you first get it, but it scratches very easily. If you have a need for a lot of the tools, this is great to have. But if you're at all concerned with size and weight, you might want to pass on this.

5The Best of the Best
By sbissell3
I'm on my second Swiss Army CyberTool 34 and really love it. The venerable Swiss Army Knife series has always produced outstanding products and this one, in my opinion, is the very best and I'll tell you why.I travel about 8 months out of the year and normally carry my laptop with me. I've found the CyberTool so useful that I wore my first one out. I use it all the time for minor computer issues and also to remove splinters, dig out warts, repair sun glasses, tighten Scuba Gear, write post cards, cut onions, trim fingernails, remove stitches, clean coffee grinders, and probably more I've forgotten about.Plus it looks sexy!

4Quality all-purpose multi-tool
By K. Clifford
Before I got the Cybertool Swiss Army Knife for Christmas, I already owned two other Swiss Army pocket knives: one that's now sold as the Wenger Canyon Genuine Swiss Army Knife, and the other which was essentially the same, but from the late '80s with the BSA logo, from my early days as a scout -- both of which are small and simple knives. I've used that last knife for almost 20 years now, and with proper care it has maintained practically a perfect edge and smooth opening and closure. I love it and it's the reason I still go back to Swiss Army knives: with proven quality, I don't have any real need to try out other brands.I've never been one for the big multi-tool knives however, but I must say that I love the Cybertool. Of course it has all of the standards, but the real attraction is in the addition of the screwdriver with 7 interchangeable bits (1 regular, and 3 double-sided). I do a lot of pc hardware work and honestly don't usually need more than one of the phillips-head screwdriver bits, but the rest, even the star bits, come in handy if you've ever encountered security screws, which seems to happen more and more frequently. For both the screwdriver and the pliers, the construction is solid and the alignment is perfect. All of the tools open and close solidly, and the removable items (tweezers, toothpick, and ballpoint pen) are held firmly in place. It was always the size of the larger multi-tool knives that turned me off, but this one is just right. Big enough to house everything I need, but not so large that it feels heavy and cumbersome in my pocket.I gave the knife a rating of "4" for three simple reasons. The first one is the translucent body. Maybe I'm just a traditionalist here, but I would have preferred the choice of solid red or bare metal; I just don't like the translucent plastic. But that alone wouldn't have been enough to warrant a lower rating. A bigger issue is the wire snip on the pliers; a smart addition to the knife, but so small it can be difficult to use. The leverage is there to make the cut, but the depth isn't -- I have to do two cuts, even with 18 gauge wire. And I only bring this up because there is room to make it slightly deeper and wider. The other problem is the placement of the hook. Instead of opening from the end of the knife on the top, it opens from the bottom with the hinge in the middle. Placement on the top of the knife would have allowed it to be twice as long as it is, while giving greater mobility, and hence, functionality. Had its placement been swapped with the can and bottle openers I could see myself using it more often.Overall, a great knife, and one I'd not hesitate to recommend to other hobbyists. While it's specifically marketed as a "cyber" tool, it would also be helpful as general tool for anyone working with small parts.

4Has Everything, But VERY BIG - Recommended
By C. F. Hill
I bought this knife as a gift for my son, and am rethinking giving it to him. He wanted a multi-tool knife and I wanted it to have a locking blade (he might need his fingers sometime in the future :-). This knife has all of the tools he could ever want and then some. Most interesting are the locking knife blade (VERY BIG), practical scissor, functional pliers, and the large saw blade.Pros:+ Has a lot of useful tools!+ Locking blade comes razor sharp+ Very well made+ SturdyCons:- This is a HUGE knife - it is not a pocket knife!- Does not come with a belt case (sold separately) :-(This is a very useful knife!Recommended!CFH

4Its Not The Huge Monster That You Have Heard
By C. Hargrave
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R3B1D3J40ZH3T3 I really like this knife. Longer for some real work if needed. Much smaller than an Ostrige egg ( I dont know why I even said that other than its true ). In this video I compare the size to a Leatherman Wave. The name says it all. Work Champ. The closest thing to a standard multi tool.

5Practical
By Ramandeep Arora
Just received this product a few days ago.It is an excellent product with a solid feel. Its knife blade is way more practical than the other tools (I am specifically referring to Swiss Champ here!). Also, It contains all the tools (that are actually used) in a better size. So, if you are looking for a practical sharp locking blade with large wood saw and other tools that you would actually use and pay for, go for this. It won't let you down!

5Great Tool
By Yasunori-San
I'm glad to finally have the opportunity to praise the Swiss Champ multi-tool knife in a public forum. It seems like mine has served me reliably for almost 2 decades, mine has literally been around the world with me, and I usually have some use for it almost daily. The tools, for the most part, are practical and functional, though they are nicely compacted into a 3 1/2" package. I do have some "wishes" for improvements, but overall, I just love my Swiss Champ and can overlook the minor faults (I'll mention some later). The most frequently used tools for me are the SCISSORS (great for anything from paper to personal grooming), the TWEEZERS, and the LARGE SCREWDRIVER/bottle opener (mostly for prying). The small set of PLIERS/wire cutters would seem to be of limited use, but they are made with such precise tolerances that they make excellent, hardy tweezers also. They are handy for gripping small things, bending metal with leverage, holding objects close to a flame, and untying those impossible little knots. One of the best functioning tools IMO is the little SAW! It seems to have a very aggressive and sharp tooth pattern, and will rapidly saw through wood and tree branches better than some full-size hand saws. The LARGE CLIP POINT KNIFE BLADE and the SMALL CLIP POINT KNIFE BLADE come with a scalpel-sharp factory sharpening (I'm not kidding... be very careful). Not enough space here to list all the uses that I've put the blades through over the years, but suffice it to say, it's a good, sharp, cutting instrument. I've never used the FISH SCALER for fish, but it also has a handy metric/english RULER on it, and, I have used the little HOOK DISGORGER prongs on the end as a sort of 2 tined fork! The little MAGNIFYING GLASS is really quite powerful (and replaces my separate field lenses), and on one occasion, I used it to start a fire when I had no matches. The MINI PEN comes in handy occasionally when you have no writing instrument available (and it works decently). Pen refills are inexpensive. Both the LEATHER AWL and the METAL SAW/FILE are useful for crafting and fabrication. When used in a twisting motion, the LEATHER AWL works very effectively in shaving out a perfectly round hole through leather. I have made and repaired clothes, shelter, and other tools with it. The CORKSCREW comes in handy (and works well) when needed, but more importantly, it stores the little MICRO-SCREWDRIVER in it's spiral whorls. There is a small STRAIGHT PIN hidden in the scales behind the corkscrew BTW, useful for splinter removal, magnetized to make a float compass, or in a pinch, to be bent into a fish hook. I use the MICRO-SCREWDRIVER on eyeglasses and small electronic devices, like watches. The CAN OPENER is functional, but you'll get tired of the repetitive motion required to open just one can. But when you're hungry, who cares. Right? I rarely use the PHILLIPS SCREWDRIVER or the plastic TOOTHPICK. I have never used the strange looking HOOK thingy(which I'm told is used to carry packages tied with string in Europe), nor the mini-CHISEL, but I know they are there! If I had to mention the few minor shortcomings of the Swiss Champ, it would be, ironically, with the knife blades. I would merely wish that the MAIN BLADE was locking, a feature that Wenger incorporates, but not Victorinox. Also, the blades are just a tad bit tricky to deploy if you have big fingers or if you just trimmed your fingernails, so I wish it had a raised thumb knob or hole to ease opening. Finally, I thought that having the two clip point blades is redundant. I would wish that one of the blades (perhaps the large one) could be replaced with a blunt, serrated or semi-serrated sheep's foot blade (practical for quick rope cutting or rescue applications). I wish the LARGE SCREWDRIVER/bottle opener was locking also (as it tends to close on you when you are applying pressure to a screw or abusing it to pry something). Though it is not a criticism of the Swiss Champ, Victorinox has made even higher model upgrade Swiss knives (loaded with even more tools!) but I don't think they were vast practical improvements over the Swiss Champ. For example, on some newer models, the interchangeable screwdriver bits are neat, usually require separate carrying of the spare tips. Most of newest improvements involve modifications to the exterior scales (like adding a watch, a compass, USB flash drive, or an LED light). I personally don't like to rely solely on electronic devices that use expendable batteries, nor mix them with my hand tools (due to the ruggedness I require of tools, and chance of breakage for the electronics). And note: a compass does NOT function reliably in proximity to ferrous metal (like a Swiss Army Knife). My final wish is that the plain smooth scales be modified as a practical grip/resource also. My suggestions: 1) make the scales out of hardened checkered rubber for better grip, or some grippy knurled plastic. 2) emboss, engrave or cast some brief practical information on the scales, like the International Morse Alphabet 3) utilize the unused portions of the scales to store more items like small flints, a small magnet, an eyed sewing needle, or a small heliograph (like the one in the Swiss Champ SOS Kit).I think that whether you are anything from an urban traveler to an outdoor survivalist, you will find that the Swiss Champ will serve you well for decades. There are a couple of multi-tools out there that I might recommend for some enhanced, higher-tech, tool qualities, but the Swiss Champ remains a durable, compact and useful workhorse. It remains one of my most valued possessions.

5Don't be without one!
By Bruce Q.
The Swisschamp knife is an absolute must! I don't know what I would do without them. I have several left after giving many for Christmas gifts some years ago. I'm serious, I wouldn't be without one, I keep one in the glove compartment and one in a drawer inside the house - a must when traveling. They're indestructable and really quite beautiful. The stainless steel really performs well (2 I've had for over 10 years, use nearly everyday, and they look practically brand new!(I think I like the black better than the red.)Seriously, trust me, get one!Very important accessory to get is the leather pouch (the type w/sharping steel includ., belt loop etc., only about $11.), they come sized per the knife model - medium, large, etc.

4Get the one without a fish scaler.
By G. Powell
This knife has it all. Well at least one to many things. I.e. fish scaler. Skip this version and get the one without it. When scaling a fish the scales get into the knife and are hard to clean out. Also the plastic lens of the magnifier will scratch over time. The pliers are a bit on the light duty side but handy. On the other hand, having a hole in the leather awl is great as you can actually sew something! The eye glass screw driver works great. The file has teeth on the edge and will cut glass bottles or aluminum. The sizzors are the standard by which all other tool knife sizzors are judged.

5Saves my back
By Nicole Field
All throughout high school, I used roller backpacks like these. They were made by Olympia and I would have to replace them every year. This was primarily because the wheels had two spinner things and all sorts of junk would get stuck in there, and if that didn't happen, the wheels themselves would just wear out. This bag by JanSport, however, has been really awesome so far. It has two pretty sizable wheels that have good traction, and should stuff get wrapped up in there, it doesn't affect the way this bag handles in the least.Another handy feature is it's handle. Before, I would have to fight with my bags because I would have to physically press down the handle if I had to climb stairs and whatnot, and often times it would just get stuck. Not fun at all. With this JanSport bag, you just press the button and there's no fighting back. Also, my laptop fits well in the inside pocket provided it (Compaq Presario V3000). Exactly what I needed.

4Great product

This is a great rolling backpack. I can fit 30 pounds of books in it and still roll it easily. It has good stability and plenty of pockets for my belongings. It also holds my laptop well and has padding to protect it. The downsides: It does not have little pockets for pen/pencils or small items, they just have to float on the bottom of your bag. Also it is pretty large so it is a little difficult to get through rows of desks at school, you need to sit toward the front.
