5Best Multi-Tool You Can Buy
By William J. Bennett
In my opinion, the SwissTool series are the best multi-tolls on the market. Stainless steel blades do not rust with only minimal care. The handles on the pliers are comfortable in your hand and the layout of the tools is excellent. There is also a good mix of tools that should cover most situations where using a multi-tool (instead of a "real tool")is appropriate. One reviewer complained that the springs were cheap. Nothing could be farther from the truth. The springs are extremely durable and will give you years of service. I am in the U.S.Army and my SwissTool has taken more use and abuse than it should have and I have had NO PROBLEMS with it....ever. There is a burn mark on the head of he pliers where It got a little too close to an electrical connection on my Hummer, but that is my fault....It is a fairly heavy tool, but that is because it is extremely well built. I have purchased and been issued other multi-tools frm Gerber, Leatherman and SOG and nothing compares to the quality and craftmanship of Swiss Army. I even have a Swiss Champ that I carry when I need something lighter than the SwissTool. Their quality can not be beat.Reading reviews on multi-tools you will see many differing opinions on what is best. Everybody needs something different and NO MULTI-TOOL will serve every person's needs perfectly. For examlpe, I do not like Gerber tools, because the bottle opener is not long enough to easily open a Sam Adams. The SOG that I had rusted easily even though it had a black "rust proof" coating and you had to open a cover on the outside of the handles to get to the tools. Original Leatherman tools pinched my hands when I used the pliers. Although I do carry a leatherman juice when I need just a small pocket knife, leatherman just does not "do it" for me.Also remember that the purpose of a multi tool is to have a tool to use when you do not have a tool box with you. Do you really need Torx bits? If you are a handyman or electrician you will. Do you need the hex bits (like I do for all the gagdets on our weapons)? Is a wood saw really needed? If you do need a wood saw, the one on this tool will easily slice through a 2x4...i've done it, but a full sized hand saw would have been much better. I typically use the wood saw for trimming branches around my tree stand when hunting or bushes around the yard. It works perfectly for that. I used the file/metal saw on mine to cut through a padlock....not an easy job, but the tool worked. The chisel looking blade has opened more wooden crates of ammunition than I can count and the awl (although never used on leather as it was designed) is a great front sight adjustment tool for my M-4. I personally do not need a corkscrew on a tool. I have a great one at my house already and have yet to be in dire need of opening a bottle of wine away from home. Although I consider a multi-tool a day-to-day necessity I would not think of rebuilding an engine with it. Use the right tool for the job at hand. You can not substitute a full sized tool for a multi-tool in every situation.I currently have a SwissTool X, but just ordered the CS Plus because of the metal file and bit driver. My old swiss tool is still servicable, but will end up in the "junk" drawer in the kitchen or the glove box in the Cherokee. As stated above I need hex drivers and I plan on replacing the bits that come in the kit with different sized hex drivers that I have already. The bottom line here is the SwissTool is an extremely high-quality, durable tool. It has a great mix of impliments that should cover most users needs. Maintenance is minimal and with a life time guarantee there should be no concerns about breakage.

5best pocket tool ever
By N. Wilkerson
The previous reviewer said that they were disappointed with the springs used in this tool but with a lifetime warranty this is hardly an issue. I have also used my metal file much i have even filed through padlocks and there is no ware on it. If you want needle nose pliars get a regular victorinox with tweezers.

5excellent tool
By David Almquist
My wife got me one of these years ago and this is indispensable for anyone who does any sort of maintenance or other outdoor work. I found it equally useful as a site manager and as a field entomologist and almost always have it on my belt "just in case" even when at home or in the office. It is sturdy and well made and I would have to really try to bend/warp it as I've done lesser multi-tools. The separate tool for driver bits makes the sheath rather large, but this tool, with my selection of bits, has been worth it enough to more than make up for the extra bulk.
