Great first "big kid" lego set!

My daughter is 6 1/2 and was getting far too bored with her Duplo sized Lego. She really wanted to get a "real" Lego set like her older brother, but she isnt interested in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Trolls and Dwarves, etc. There just aren't many options for girls! But she is a HUGE animal lover and when we saw this set, we KNEW it would be perfect for her. She received it for Christmas today and was so excited. She is learning to follow all the steps and build on her own. It is challenging but not frustrating for her. The best part? She LOVES bats... and the book has instructions for making a Lego Bat!

Finally a Lego animal that stays together!

This is a FANTASTIC investment. With 630+ pieces, my 8 yr old has been busy creating one (huge) animal, enjoying it, tearing it apart and creating another one. There are 8 animals .... though with the imagination this set instills, I expect to be seeing 'cy-borg' animals soon.

My daughter, 10, loves animals and Legos. This was a perfect match. The models it makes are adorable. They take some time, too, and are challenging for an intermediate lego builder. One of our favorite sets.

The best out of the Bob sets, even though it ain't the biggest.

This is the 2nd biggest set in the Duplo Bob the Builder series, but it seems to be the most pleasing playwise, as it comes with a building with opening windows and door, table and chairs, Bob, his cat, and Travis. It also comes with a trailer to put the house on, and it can be towed by Travis. While the Scoop and Lofty set has two vehicles in it, the buildings do not build up to much of anything, so you would just end up having more loose blocks around the house (that big set has 80+ pieces). I couldn't justify spending the extra money on it either. I recommend this one as the best in the series.My son loves these sets, but he also has the Thomas Duplos and tends to spend more time playing with those.

my 2-year-old loves bob and loves legos...he likes making the caravan and travis. the other pieces he honestly treats as lego pieces - not really creating anything b-the-b specific. but legos are always a great gift!

Great Value

I bought this set for my 23 month old son who usually has a limited attention span. It keeps him occupied for an hour at a time. The pieces are simple enough to put together (and I can help him do this with one hand while I hold my 2 mth old son in the other) and sturdy enough so that they do not fall apart easily. He also has the Thomas Train duplo set, but that set requires much more set up and frustrates him easily. This Bob the builder set is a great playset for him since it is colorful, very easy to handle, and very versatile with the different things he can do. He also loves the Bob and cat figures that come with the set.

Versatile set with many building ideas

This is a superb LEGO set giving kids many different options for building a wide range of vehicles. The instruction book that is included with the set has 76 pages (!) of building instructions and ideas. The instruction booklet rates each of the different creations with a difficulty level from easy to intermediate to expert.There are enough pieces that you can actually make all three of the vehicles shown on the cover at one time. My son loves playing with it daily (and so do I...)

I wish I had bought 2 or 2 similar of this type. They were both discussing who could have what parts and loved being able to make these small vehicles. They love making small car type lego creations and this was a big hit!

Everything for young engineers!

If you have a son like mine that can't get enough of cars, trucks... well, anything on wheels... then this is the PERFECT gift! Within a matter of days, my 4 year old (with the help of Dad,) had all of the cars built and they looked great! We always struggled with not having enough wheels to make all of the transportation vehicles that he wanted. We're set now! Get this if you can. You won't regret it!

Cool features

This set features Hermione(with switchable head), Ron(with switchable head), Harry(with switchable head and removeable flipers), and Krum(with shark head and hair). Ron and Hemione are atatched to pieces, and there is a hidden teeter-totter, so push a stick in, and they are forced upward. Push a stick out, and a lobsterflies out. Pull out a compartment, and ther are hidden knives. Lego always does a good job.

Leggo Harry Potter Rescue from Merpeople

My son absolutely loved this toy. Unfortunatly, some of the pieces are very small and easily fall off the toy. After a short time period, too many pieces were missing. Because of this, my son hardly plays with the toy anymore.

This lego is awesome. It comes with Harry, Voldemort, Peter Pettigrew, and Lucious Malfoy. This is a must-have for HP fans like me. It has 4 graves and the pot that Voldemort rises out of. It also has the Tom Riddle grave and the gravehouse thing. I hope they make more Harry Potter 4 Legos. Right now there are only 4.

Four words: THIS SET IS BRILLIANT! The Minifigures are Harry, Voldemort (You-Know-Who), Wormtail, Malfoy(Death Eater) and a bunch of skelys. If I could improve it, I would add a Cedric Diggory minifigure. But, apart from that, cool and spooky! Hey, I'm the SECOND person to review this!

I REALLY liked this and I'm 13. This new movie is rated PG-13 so why the ages go up to 12? For younger kids it might be hard but I built this in 30 miuntes and me and my friends can get enough of it! Six of my friends have already convined their parents to get it for them! I luv the Hungraion Horntail!

My 8 year old grandson loved this for his birthday.

He built the ship and is enjoying playing with it. He is currently reading the book with these characters in it and especially enjoys it as it makes it more meaningful. I would recommend the toy in conjunction with reading the book.

I know many people buy Harry Potter legos to collect only, but my daughter wanted a set for her birthday. She really has been enjoying the Durmstrang ship. She put it together at first the way it is on the box, and then she put it together in different ways. I received this very quickly and it arrived just as described.
