Not Just for Kids!!!

My daughter recieved Scamps for her birthday! It just so happens that Scamps was delivered during Hurricane Wilma. As the neighbors came together for flashlight lite dinners, Scamps entertained us all. This toy is awesome. One man exclaimed "I am gonna get one too" Scamps has been offically welcomed in our family as the best pet!!!

An honest review

Some spoiled children have been comparing SCAMPS to the Aibo, a robot so intellegent it is most commonly used in artifitial intellegence labs. The dogs have been known to sell for around $2,000! For a $44 toy SCAMPS is incredable! Some people haven't gotten to know SCAMPS yet and he hasn't "gained thier trust" yet. This is why SCAMPS hasn't been singing and adding numbers. He probably doesn't listen to comands very well because the kids are not speaking clearly. I would buy this dog if he was simply a plush toy because of his awsome looks he would be well worth 40 bucks. But he's a robo dogie? It's an incredable deal for such an intellent dog! He may not seem so smart when you compare him Aibo he is deffinatly the smartest dog I've seen beside the Aibo and I-Cybie (Both expensive, AI to the extreme robo pups). If you want a dog that can walk of course you would look into GO GO but she can't do much but that. SCAMPS can do many tricks and loves to hangout with you and cuddle too! I first fell in love with him when I saw him at walmart and looked into him on the web when I got home. I have enough because I've been saving up and I cannot wait untill he becomes me best friend! :) Oh and for the above review, he adds #s only to a certaint extent... he will most likley bark or stroke the ground for the # equal to the sum. If this is true he is VERY intellegent, if not he is still way, way, WAY worth the money and is furreal friends at it's finest! I would recomend this dog if you are looking for a best friend, someone to train and cuddle with. If you want someone to pet and hangout with. To watch you while you do your homework and sit by you in the car or while your watching T.V. If you want someone to take a walk with and you are not planning on carring him or bringing a baby stroller then I would of course tell you to look into GO GO MY WALKING PUP. :) I cannot WAIT untill I can get this wonderfull friend!

An Excited 4 year old!

I just purchased Scamps for my daughter's 4th Birthday and I am so happy I did. This is a WONDERFUL gift for children. My daughter fell absolutely in love with him and thinks that he is REAL!!!!My whole family was captivated at how much this toy simulates a real dog!!! It does EVERYTHING ACCORDING TO THE MANUAL! Its incredibly cute when it HOWLS!!! I JUST LOVE IT!! My daughter looks forward to coming home and playing with her new PUPPY AFTER SCHOOL EVERY DAY!!!

Awesome shoes!

These shoes are so gorgeous! Even though they are a fairly high heel, because of the wedge style and the soft leather they are really comfortable. I wore them to work all day with no problems! I love these shoes!

It's Okay

Unlike the other reviewer, I did receive speakers with mine, and they couldn't handle the bass in a lot of my music files very well...so I sold them, and continue to use the ones I already had.I needed to replace my monitor for my home desk-top, and I was tight on funds, so I bought this. Obviously takes up more space than a flat screen monitor, but not as much space as some of the other "dinosaur" monitors.I get a clear picture, and bright colors, so that's good enough for me.Another "old" product that I'm still using is the HP Deskjet 895cse - Printer - color - ink-jet - Legal, A4 - 600 dpi x 600 dpi - up to 10 ppm - capacity: 100 sheets - Parallel, USB. (Stop laughing - if something still works just fine, no sense throwing away money.)

Not As Advertised But Fairly Decent Anyway

The description says this monitor comes with a pair of speakers; if so, I sure didn't get them. So I'll review the monitor alone: nowadays, the new thing in monitors are the lightweight flat screen units. This one is a very heavy throwback to the days of big glass picture tubes.For the price, though, it's a bargain. When my laptop crashed, I needed a new monitor to resurrect my desktop computer and this monitor has given a sharp stable picture when adjusted properly. If you need a good, inexpensive monitor, get this one but make sure you buy it brand new and not a refurbished model that could go dead on you in a few days to a week. You might save money with a refurbished one, but they almost always have problems-- which is why they were taken back and presumably fixed in the first place. But many long years of shopping experiece has shown me that repaired monitors-- or anything else for that matter-- are never as good as they should be; they are a problem just waiting to happen. So remember: for a few extra dollars, buy new-- you won't be sorry.

Compaq CRT Monitor

I am glad I purchased this Compaq CRT monitor. CRT monitors are giving way to LCD/LED monitors, which is good for most people but not for everyone. I am one of those in whom LCD/LED monitors cause insomnia. In fact, I had to give up my otherwise fine Samsung LED television a year ago because of severe insomnia. So I was delighted to snap up this CRT monitor now while it is still available. I should not have any need to purchase a new monitor for years to come. I am hopeful that by that time the manufacturers will have worked out the problems in LCD/LED monitors or perhaps switched to a newer technology. As CRT monitors go, this Compaq is pretty good. Not as much of a space hog as some others, and excellent picture quality.

I liked the shadow cowl, it closed up some of the big window space which i wanted and doesnt block your view or get in the way. Plus you can take it off to wash the vehicle or for whatever other reason. Very clean look!

Smaller than I thought.

I had the choice of "small" jackets or jackets. I bought the jackets thinking there were regular sized and I could get my pearls to seat in them. They ended up being too small for the pearl size I would use in them, so I gave them to my little niece. Perfect for a little girl, not perfect for a big girl ;-D.

Calphalon Stainless Steel 8 Qt. Stockpot

I have five other contemporary stainless pieces (skillets and pots), purchased when the line was first introduced, that I am satisfied with. When I wanted a new stockpot I decided to purchase the Calphalon Contemporary 8 quart stockpot and also decided to buy the separate insert for cooking pasta, corn on the cob, etc. (I didn't want the disc bottom multi-pot after reading the reviews about boiling over problems, splattering and lid problems, etc.). This pot is okay, but it is way too slow bringing water to a boil--it takes at least 20 minutes for water to come to a boil on my gas stove! This is a full seven minutes more than the old pot that I handed down to my son! Also, don't waste your money on purchasing the poorly designed pasta cooker insert. The fit is such that the water doesn't circulate or boil properly when using the insert. It takes forever to cook pasta with the insert, and the pot is difficult to control. This pot generally cooks better without the insert. This pot may be attractive, but I am disappointed enough with it that I would not purchase it again.

Great Pot

I'm a big fan of this line of pots. The handles are extended to perfect length to work with a mitten or kitchen towel. The gradual flaring of the top half of the pot is great for cleaning because it allows for more arm angles. This also improves vision when looking at the bottom. The glass top is a must for perfect flame adjustment to achieve an ideal simmer. I use this pot only for stock making since it is a narrow tall pot. The previous reviewer objected to the time it took to bring water to a boil. I didn't notice any remarkable difference between this pot and my other pots. But since I'm only making stock, I know I will be using it for more than 2 hrs each time so losing seven minutes (if thats the case) is in the noise. And once you achieve a boil, simmering requires so little energy with the top on. My only issue is that the tri-ply could be thicker like thickness of Calphalon's cheaper Tri-Ply line. I'm guessing that it could be a compromise made to allow more ease of manufacturing the unique and beautiful shape of the pot. I'm trying to figure out why the long handles used in the skillets and sauce pans are so clunky and ugly that it goes totally counter to the shear elegance of the stock pots. It's almost like two separate designs teams worked on the line with one team having an artistic eye and the other a utilitarian philosophy. How did this stylistic inconsistency got past the production lead and upper management?

Solid, Elegant, Gorgeous

Returned a Denmark 8 qt stockpot because one oven pot roast with red wine and it was permanently discolored. Nickel is a toxic metal, so not liking the bluish hue after first use.3Bs had a good selection, so I looked around. This was clearly the best quality cookwear in the store. The heaviest, most finished, and the brushed finish will be serviceable for decades to come. It helps that this is a deep collection, so you can add to the set over time. Definitely pretty enough to place in the middle of the table and serve from.This is the real deal. Now I just have to talk myself into paying this much for another stock pot - even if it is ten bucks cheaper here, and with no 8% sales tax. The 13-piece set would make a great wedding present.

Good Value

I ordered the item with 2-day shipping selected, but the item was delivered within 24 hours so that was a nice surprise. The mount itself looks good and seems well-built. The only downside is that the installation was a bit confusing. There are no written instructions provided, only engineering-type diagrams. Took me a while to decipher all of the pictures (and find the stud in my ceiling), but I was able to install it myself in one afternoon. It swivels, tilts, and rotates to virtually any position. It does not have an up/down telescoping movement, but I have low ceilings and a 32" panel so I like it where it is. Ultimately, a flat-panel ceiling mount (+ free DIY installation) for $100 seems like a bargain to me.

NOT meant for ALL 42" Flat Panel Televisions.

The reason I bought this mount was because I could hang my TV only 13" off the ceiling and that it was cheaper than other mounts ($89). It looks identical to the picture and it is sturdy BUT the plate does not match to the hole patterns for my TV. I bought a Panasonic TC-P42G10 which doesn't specify the VESA size. So the TV is 42" but requires the bigger plate mount which I THINK is VESA 400. So when you buy this product be aware that this mount is for VESA 200 or smaller and that your 42" TV does state VESA 200. "VESA is a standard pattern of mounting location holes on the back of a Plasma or LCD TV which allows many standard Wall Brackets and Wall Mounts to be easily fitted to your Plasma or LCD TV."

Looks nice, works well, but made in China

I spent a lot of time researching saucepan's before purchasing the Calphalon Contemporary. I am in the process of replacing my old Wolfgang Puck set with higher end pieces. In the end, my choice came down to Calphalon and All-Clad. With careful shopping I could get an equivalent saucepan from either company for about the same price. However, the Calphalon glass lid is a plus, since they give you the ability to see the food at a glance while its cooking. Whenever I am choosing between products with similar price and quality, I generally try to buy goods made in the US. All-Clad saucepans are made in the US but the lids are made in China. I read several reviews stating that the Calphalon Contemporary line is made in the US. However, much to my disappointment, when I received the saucepan the box clearly said "Made in China." I really wish that Amazon would list the manufacturing location of products. If it had, I would not have purchased this since a US made alternative was available for the same price.Country of origin aside, this saucepan is very well-machined and finished. The modern streamlined design and glass lid are aesthetically pleasing. The pan handle stays cool even when boiling liquid for a long time, however the lid handle gets quite hot, but is still cool enough to quickly remove--you just wouldn't want to hold on to it for very long. The pan heats up quickly and evenly and the lid is a perfect fit. The saucepan size and iconic instructions (dishwasher safe, good for induction ovens, etc.) are nicely printed on the bottom of the pan, but I wonder how long these will last.So other than being disappointed about where this was manufactured, I am pleased with the product. I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars, because with manufacturing in China it really should be cheaper than it is.

PA-18A Super Cub Airplane Model. The Piper PA-18 Super Cub is a two-seat, single-engine airplane developed from the PA-11. I've had the pleasure of owning this set for the past 6+ years and they leave me wanting nothing. They cook fantastic, are incredibly durable, look great and are easy to clean. My only complaint would be when cooking things for a long time with the lids on the handle for the lids get hot to the touch, but not hot enough to burn you, just hot. We've added more individual Calphalon Contemporary pots to our arsenal over the years including a few of the non-stick contemporary pans, while they do have their purpose, I prefer the stainless steel pans for nearly everything. The SS pans are far more durable than the non-stick, while the non-stick are great non-stick pans if this were the non-stick set we'd probably be replacing it due to wear. These pans don't carry the flashy All-Clad name, but I have no complaints and don't feel pressure to upgrade.

Great Buy

Wanted to avoid all the potential chemicals from non stick, teflon and other options. Have been really happy with them although they do gradually stain but I would definitely get them again. And great value.

Outstanding macro lens at a reasonable price.

I am professional photographer specializing in botanical and nature photography. I bought the Tamron 180 lens after many years of using the equally great 90mm macro. I love the 90mm but was looking for a lens with greater working distance and better ability to control backgrounds. The 180mm has proven to be excellent optically as well as ergonomically well designed. The light weight, for its size, coupled with the very intuitive af-mf push-pull design are great in the field. Great close up lens

This lens is amazing, I am a commercial shooter specializing in medical, and have been a pro since 1980. My philosophy is real simple, buy the best lens for the purpose, and the money is an important part of this. This lens is sharper then the Nikkor 85 mm 2.8 shift lens, ( I have owned 2 of these lenses). Actually sharper then any Nikkor lens I have owned.

Excellent tele-macro lens

This is a superb lens, with a good solid build and a smooth manual focus. Because it's made from polycarbonate rather than metal, it's also surprisingly lightweight. The tripod collar is easy to remove but solid. The filter effect control is a nice convenience.The automatic focus is not particularly fast, but this is not much of a disadvantage since most photographers use manual focus in macro work anyway.Highly recommended.
