3works well but no accessories available
By M. Hoffman
I was so excited to receive this food processor and begin using it. I was thrilled with how fast I could prepare vegetables, but I found the slicing disc to make extremely thin slices--only 2mm is not very thick! I decided to look into buying some additional discs which could cut thicker slices. However, I soon learned by going to kitchenaid's website, and by calling them directly, that there are NO additional discs or blades available for the 7-cup version besides those that come with it. So, if you think you might ever want to purchase some other blades or attachments (julienne cutter, thick slice disc, etc.) you'd better go with a bigger model. I ended up returning mine for a 9 cup version. But I can't help but feel grumpy about it, because Cuisinart offers additional discs for their 7-cup models. Why doesn't Kitchenaid? It was a fantastic food processor, but the options were just too limited! I asked the kitchenaid rep on the phone why that is, and she said they consider 7 cup models to not be full sized. It doesn't make sense to me, though--just because you're cooking for a small number of people, why would you automatically only want small slicing sizes? If you don't think you will ever want to purchase more accessories for your fp, by all means buy this model. But just be forewarned that you will only be able to slice stuff reeeeeally thin.

5Best of the best
By Elizabeth Hatfield
This workhorse is perfect for our family. The large 7 cup bowl is good for so many uses, while the 3 cup mini bowl helps save some clean up time. It does leak a little on the side if you are dealing with liquids, but solid items stay in the big bowl.Since the buttons are flush on the unit, it makes cleaning it a snap. A quick wipe and you are done.As with any white plastic part, it will stain depending on what it comes in contact with. I've pureed red chilies in there so my blade handle has taken on a bit of a red hue. A little bleach and quick cleaning usually removes the color. The blades that it comes with have been a life saver for shredding - I've shredding carrots for a carrot cake in no time flat without hurting my arms using the old box grater. I used to avoid making carrot cake for that reason, but now make it more often. My mother used my processor and loved it - she requested it for Christmas! It just makes cooking easier.

5So far. so good. I like it a lot.

Have had the Kitchen Aid KFP720OB 7-cup with 3-cup mini for ~2 mos., and I'm still learning, as it's my first food processor. The original small blade scored the sides of the mini bowl, but I called KA customer service, and both the blade and bowl were replaced immediately at no cost. KA even sent a postage label for returning the defective parts. I use both blades and both bowls almost daily but haven't used the slicing/shredding blade. The machine is quiet, powerful, doesn't move about on the counter, and everything is easy to clean (I have no dishwasher). The closest thing I have to a complaint is that the large bowl is a little difficult to remove. Perhaps I just haven't figured it out yet. All in all, I'm very happy with this processor. I think it does what it's supposed to do, and customer service was excellent.
