Bright ID'er Jumbo Caller ID

LOVE THIS CALLER ID!!! We 1st bought one for my elderly mother as a Christmas present, and then it was drowned in the flood waters of Katrina. After she relocated to her own condo on the 26th floor in Chicago (where it will hopefully never flood), we got her another one so she could just look across the room and see who was calling before she answered the phone. I was so impressed with it, I bought one for myself, so that while I was working on the computer or watching TV, I could just glance over at it and quickly decide whether I wanted to answer the phone or not. IT'S WONDERFUL--I WOULDN'T BE WITHOUT ONE!

Poor quality, poor service.

I purchased 2 BRIGHT ID'ERs. Both arrived new and in manufacturers packing. One of them worked and the other didn't. I called the manufacturer about exchanging the non-working unit for a new one that worked. They agreed to do that but refused to reimburse me for the return shipping cost. I thought that was tacky and cheap, especially considering that I purchased 2 units at $100 each. I received the replacement unit and here it is 1 year later and that unit has stopped working. Summary: BRIGHT ID'ER quality control and customer service are non-existant. The product will cause you lots of frustration.

The Bright ID'er is great. I like it much better than the Info Globe which I've been using for 3 years - and the Info Globe is a far more delicate and fragile instrument than the Bright ID'er. Mount it on a shelf with adhesive Velcro and you'll be fine even with a few cats running around knocking other items over. The display lights up on the first ring and I can see who is calling from the other side of the workshop. It is well constructed, better than some Caller IDs I've used in the past. Reviewing the call log is as simple as it gets. My wife wants one upstairs. We have a "Person-To-Person" Household Telephone Management System which blocks out all UNKN callers, UNKN names and numbers with no names. Our phone does not even ring. Telemarkerters have learned to bypass this system by attaching bogus personal and company names to their numbers. Now, with the Bright ID'er, I can simply ignore their calls from afar and block any future attempts to invade my home. My only negative is that the Bright ID'er is not offered on Amazon Prime. Even as such, it is, to me, worth the extra shipping cost. These make wonderful gifts for the elderly members in our families. Mama is getting one for certain.
