I received this watch as a gift (after I pointed it out to my family in a large retail store), and I have to say: Kudos to Seiko for making a durable watch!PROS -1. The battery life on this thing is none that I have experienced before in a watch. I have owned this watch for almost 3 years now and I have only needed to change the battery once! The only downside is that because it is such a name-brand watch, you can't take it to Wal-Mart or some low-end battery store to get the battery replaced, you have to go either back to the retail shop or to a special battery store to get the watch batter replaced.2. I personally destroy watches. Normally my family has to get me one every year because I like to wear it loose and I hit is against a lot of things (and use it as a fidgeting focal point...). This watch I have to say has held up perfectly against me wearing it. Of course there are a few scratches (ok a lot of scratches) on the watch face itself, but you can still read the time.3. The watch fits perfectly to my wrist. I have tried to go with other watches that are more 'solid' and don't move around the wrist, like the ones with a solid piece of silver that stays rigid. I just can't get used to those. This watch is perfect, each link is individual and moves fluidly around the wrist and conforms to it no matter what position your wrist is in.CONS -1. Cleaning is a bummer because of the individual links on the watch band itself. It is pretty difficult to bend the watch this way and that in order to clean it properly and get in between each of the individual links.2. The clasp itself wore out pretty quickly. I looked down one day about 6 months ago and noticed that it was hanging by the tiny clasp part itself, that it had come unlatched!! This has happened a few times when I'm being especially rough to it or whatnot, but I've just taken it upon myself to check the watch and make sure I have it securely fastened around my wrist at intervals throughout the day. Also, unless they invent scratch-proof glass (oh wait, they do, why don't they put this on watches again??), then my watch face will always look like I've taken a pair of scissors to it after a year.I would definitely recommend this watch to someone who hits their watch frequently against objects or someone who destroys them after a year. I just like a watch that I can wear daily and not worry about it (except when I want the time of course), and this one is perfect for what I am using the watch for. There are a few times that because the links are so fluid, when I set it wrong on the counter or something after I take it off, it sometimes falls off right away. Overall, a great watch for the price!
