A classic that really works

Pro:1) Reliable (if used properly)2) Easy to use (after you understand how it works)3) Can get inexpensive fuel anywhere you go. Use gasoline in the unlikely event that you don't find Coleman fuel on your trip.4) Sturdy, compact package.5) Works in bad weather. (Don't set directly in snow because that would cool the tank too much.)6) The manufacture honestly states the boil time. This may be longer than the time that other manufactures claim for their stoves, but it really is as fast in real life conditions7) Will last a lifetime. Mine has never given any problem in 36 years of use.8) Better for the environment, no need to throw out costly butane cans.Con:1) Noisy2) You have to know how it works. (It's not that hard. I think it's rather fun to use a stove that has character.)3) Not safe in a small tent. (No stove is, but some stoves would be less dangerous to use in a tent if you're really going to do it.)4) Not "ultralight". I use a little alcohol stove if I'm just going to heat some tea on a day-hike. The Svea is for serious cooking.
