Really cute doll, nasty hair.

This doll has really cute clothes and accessories, but the hair is awful! You can't even comb it.Wasn't that supposed to be half of the fun considering they come with all of the hair accessories. Come on, a company like Mattel should be able to do better than that! All said, it is a fun doll with cool clothes.

Debbie ( or Deondra ) is so cute! I totally LOVE this doll ! She's super sporty and sweet ! her dark aburn red hair is LOVELY with her sparkly eyes !! she comes with alot of cool stuff. sO GET HER ! I am a 9 year oldand i say she rules. peace + luvs

My daughter chose this doll; I had never heard of the Teen Trends line. I have to say I am very pleased with Mattel for designing a doll that seems to solve some of the objectionable physical characteristics of Barbie and Bratz. Deondra (the Teen Trends doll we bought) is considerably larger than Barbie at 17" tall. Since she is larger than Barbie, she is easier to dress and most of her accessories are too large to suck up into the vacuum cleaner. Her limbs are hinged so that she is very flexible, but the downside of this is that she cannot stand in an upright position without a stand. (I guess I should mention that our stand broke. I called Mattel customer service, and they were unable to replace it, but they sent a $3 voucher for another Mattel product.) Even without the stand, though, Deondra continues to delight my daughter (age 9) and me, her very selective mother. Deondra does not have a disproportionate chest like Barbie; in fact, she has a realistic flat-chestedness that one would expect of a doll that is called a "teen." Her waistline is also in proportion--no waspish figure here. Deondra's feet are flat, not permanently molded into the shape of a high heel. We purchased a clothing accessory pack to accompany the doll. In general, I am satisfied with the outfit, though the pink "night life" top just barely reaches the waistband of the skirt. I am not a fan of the bare midriff look for girls or their dolls, but I have certainly seen worse in the Bratz line, a product that I will not purchase for my child. The night life outfit also comes with a plastic "drink" that looks too much like a cocktail for my approval, but my daughter insists that it could just as well be a lemonade, and I don't have a good argument for that. I have appreciated the box that came with Deondra. It's sturdy serves as a good home for the doll and the accessories that my three year old might try to put in her mouth, were she to find them lying about. Over all, I have been satisfied with this doll and would consider buying another, though I would screen the accessory pack more thoroughly in the future to discard any items that seem to promote an inappropriate image.
