Product Description

All CURT hitches feature WeatherTite construction, which prevents rusting from the inside out by sealing the main body of the hitch. The receiver tube has an open back end to allow for easy cleaning and for dirt and moisture to pass through and not get trapped as is common with other brands of hitches. All CURT hitches come with mounting hardware and installation instructions. CURT is the only hitch company in the industry that mechanically de-scales all of our hitches before applying a thick powder coat finish, which is baked on for a high-gloss, smooth surface. CURT trailer hitches are simply the most attractive, most durable and toughest hitch on the market. You won’t find better quality and value anywhere!

5Curt hitch receiver 13241 - Class III -
By Simon R. Mouer
This review is for the Curt receiver 13241 application to my 2012 Nissan Frontier Crew-Cab Long-bed SL.I cut the box the receiver came in to lay flat so I could use it as a mat to lay on.This is my second Curt hitch receiver. The first was for a Mazda Tribute. As expected, this receiver is massive, accurately made, and finished well with a thick coat of black powder coat. This is a heavy item (for me) weighing in at 45 pounds. Still, it was easy to put on by myself, and I am 70+ years old. The bolt holes were accurately drilled, and the Nissan came with weld nuts already in place. The six bolts came with thick conical washers, which are designed to exert pressure on the bolts as they are tightened. All it took was lining up one bolt hole and start a bolt, then do one bolt on the other side. The rest is easy. Probably the hardest part, besides getting the first bolt on, was torquing the bolts to 65 foot-pounds. There was one bolt partially obstructed by the exhaust pipe, that required a knuckle joint on the socket wrench. That's all there was to installation. the only tools you will need are a 3/4" socket and driver (or 19mm), a 6" extension bar for the socket, a knuckle joint, and a torque wrench set to 65 foot-pounds. You could just use a 3/4" (19mm) box wrench. On the Nissan Frontier, the receiver was jut a little inside the rear-most edge of the rear bumper, with maybe less than 1/2" clearance below it. I set a 2" hitch into the receiver with no problem. However, a Texas "tailgate" hitch cover, which extends 3" beyond the hith cove shaft, would not fit because the rear edge of the bumper interfered (the receiver was recessed a little too much under the bumper.)All-in-all, the Curt hitch receiver more than met my expectations, and I would recommend it to my friends.

5Great Deal.
By R. Clark
Nice Hitch. The dealer wanted 2.5 times the price plus an hour labor. Same item. Took ten minutes to put on. Fits the 2012 Frontier, although when I bought it, it only said up to the 2011.The bolts are stuffed in the frame. Initially thought they forgot them.
