Pyramid PR2500/SEA2500 Preamp

The Good: Inexpensive - nice case, smooth controls and decent sound. The MIC input allows me to run the output of my electronic drums or bass guitar into the mix to play along. That is the main reason I purchased the unit as I was previously using a mixing board to do this.It has a phono circuit. Probably not top notch, but it is livable.For the price the pre-amp has a lot of features.The Bad: It is rack mount but the height is non standard. It looks like a 1U device but because of the hole layout it takes up 2U (1/2 U below and 1/2 U above are open space. Also the circuit board mounting standoff sticks out below the unit which means even if it were a true 1U unit, you could not flush mount it above anything.

Great product for the money!

I have two computers connected to my TV/Entertainment system and purchased this unit to balance the volume from my computers to my TV. Prior to this, I had to turn the volume on my stereo way up to hear movies played from my computers or when playing games. Switching back to TV without first lowering the volume would just about blow my speakers. I'm really happy with the amount of gain I was able to correct for on my computers and now switching between computer/TV I don't have to worry about volume. One thing that would have been nice is a simple remote to toggle between inputs, but for the bargain price and as often as I will need to change inputs, it's really not an issue. There was little to no noticeable noise added with the unit. I would recommend it for anyone wanting to boost the volume from a low power device to a home stereo.

Yes! I like everything about this preamp. Just what I was looking for.Ineeded an ixpensive preamp for my Cd player that I washooking up to my Amplifier. I use it on stage to play backround music. The quality is a lot more than I expected for the price I paid. I'm very happy with my purchase.
