4Works

I've had this for about 6 months. It works well. The only problem I've had is that the screws seem a bit too short and can be stripped if you tighten them too hard. I found longer replacement screws at Home Depot for a reasonable price. I've used it for a couple of small bowls and it holds well both tightening on a spigot and expanding into a recess. It's a bit bigger than the PSI Woodworking CSC3000C Barracuda and weighs more. It also has an indexing plate on the back side. The jaws are not compatible with the Barracuda chuck.

5The Best Chuck I have used!!!!!!!!!
By R. Sullivan
This chuck is GREAT!! It is vastly supperior to the PSI chucks and Equally as good as the One-Way. That is right people, It is just as good as the 250.00 dollar one-way chuck. It took me a long time to find and use this chuck but now that I have found it, it is the only one I will buy. If Money is TRULY no object to you then I would probably go with the one-way just for the name, but in my opinion you are not getting anything more with the one-way than with the Grizzly. I am actually kinda upset with PSI and One-Way now that I have found this chuck cause now I Know good chucks can be made for much less than they are charging. I now own THREE of these and will only buy them. Buy it, you will not be disappointed. I have not had any thread stripping problems. But that doesn't mean it wont happen in the future but Grizzly is solid and I am sure they will help me out if something happens. Good luck and good turnin!

5Excellent value and works great

Hey, Grizzly Inc.: You couldn't BUY a better ad than this! :)I think I must have researched every one of the available 4-jaw wood chucks out there before settling on this Grizzly 3-3/4" H6265 model. The ads don't do justice to describing what a good deal this chuck is. The thing that Grizzly can't advertise is that this chuck is a virtual DUPLICATE of the Vicmarc VM100 chuck, except for minor sacrifice of fit-and-finish and brand name. But, it's darn well made for a China knockoff. And the price is only about 1/3 of the VM100. When it arrived I was pleasantly surprised at its solid look and feel. After using it am very pleased with its performance and overall quality. It's certainly not the slickest chuck made, nor tops in features, but it's definitely got them all beat in terms of what-you-get vs. what-you-pay -- much more than anything else in its class. I am not a gear-snob and not too proud to buy Chinese copies. I just like to get good tools that do the job, with value that equals or exceeds the price. That's what cinched the deal for me - I believe I ended up with a $300+ value of chuck and 3 jaw sets for my investment of much much less. I'll be spending that savings on another one of these so I can switch jaws less often. Grizzly presently only sells two extra jaw sets for it, BUT all the jaws that will fit the V100 and other compatibles will mount perfectly on the Grizzly. The chuck back is solid steel and has drilled index holes. It is the "fully enclosed" design, unlike some higher-priced models where shavings can collect in the gearing. Adjustment is with standard hex allen wrenches. It is threaded for the European/Down-Under M33x3.5 mount, with heavy duty thread adapters to take it to any of the popular lathe spindle sizes. The only difference between Grizzly's several "models" of this chuck is what adapter is supplied. Can you tell by now that I like this chuck ???
