Heavenly Topper

After much research I decided to purchase a 2" memory foam topper. I chose the Sensus based on the reviews from others and the fact that this topper is a 5lb density. What a difference, my bed went from just OK to fantastic. I did not notice a smell that others complained about and this topper has made a huge difference in getting a good nights sleep.

No miracles here...

I also did a lot of research before spending $250 of my hard earned money. My goal is to eventually purchase a memory foam matress, as my spring matress is 10+ years old and getting uncomfortable. The topper was an improvement. I am lightweight and felt that two inch thickness would be sufficient. I don't feel the spring matress through the topper which was about all I was expecting. The initial smell was overwhelming for two nights; I only aired it out for a few hours in another room. It felt very firm for about a week; now I notice it is much more giving and the smell was not noticeable after several nights of use. This is not the same as having a pillowtop mattress/topper, which is luxuriously comfortable, but not supportive. I can lay on my back without a severe strain since my legs stay more elevated with the memory foam. Otherwise, I did not see any change in my sleep habits, which were already pretty good. My aches and pains are still there in the morning and I doubt it neutralizes movement during the night. Overall, I would recommend this for making an uncomfortable mattress bearable when finances are a concern, but no miracles here. The free pillow was helpful for placing between my knees when I lay on my side or behind my back when I sit up in bed.

This is my third Sensus topper. The other two are 3 inch but this 2 inch works just as well. I use it over an extra firm mattress with a Pinzon overfilled pad over it. This gives me the same comfort as the mattress companys advertise in their mattresses costing over $1000. In 5 years I can replace just the topper and pad and have a virtually new bed for little cost.I did not detect any smell in this one and was able to sleep on it the first night. With my previous Sensu purchases there was a discrenable smell and I aired them out a couple of days before sleeping on them.
